We were told that HBO was in the process of developing several Game of Thrones spinoffs back when House of the Dragon was first announced, and we finally have some idea of what these shows will focus on - if they ever see the light of day, that is.
According to Deadline, the ideas for a trio of projects set in George R.R. Martin's fantasy world of Westeros currently being discussed are 9 Voyages, aka Sea Snake, Flea Bottom, and 10,000 Ships.
9 Voyages, which is said to be furthest along, has Rome creator Bruno Heller on board and follows Lord Corlys Velaryon, aka The Sea Snake, the Lord of the Tides and head of House Velaryon. Steve Toussaint will play the character in House of the Dragon
The other two projects don't have creative teams attached: 10,000 Ships "revolves around the warrior queen Princess Nymeria, a revered ancestor of House Martell who founded of the kingdom of Dorne," while Flea Bottom will be set in the notorious King's Landing slum in "the maze of tight streets in the capitol city where characters like Davos Seaworth and Gendry Baratheon were born."
These shows join the potential adaptation of Martin’s Tales of Dunk & Egg novellas, a possible GoT HBO Max animated series.
There's obviously a lot of potential here, but it sounds like these projects are only in the very early stages of development.
