Patrick Wilson Wants To Reprise WATCHMEN Role But Has He Been Contacted About The TV Series?

Patrick Wilson will suit up as the villainous Ocean Master in Aquaman this December but the actor is eyeing another DC role in the form of Nite-Owl, a character he played in Zack Snyder's Watchmen...

Watchmen was a great movie and it played a large role in putting Patrick Wilson on the map. Since then, the actor has become the face of The Conjuring franchise and will return to the world of comic books - after passing on Ant-Man - as Aquaman's Ocean Master. During a recent interview, however, the topic of Damon Lindeloff's upcoming TV adaptation came up and Wilson is definitely interested.

"It was such a joy shooting that movie, I wanted there to be more of them," he explains in the video below. "I’ve wanted to play Dan again. I certainly think we’re all more age appropriate now!" That's a fair point but the actor was quick to point out that he hasn't heard anything from HBO about the show.

"There’s never been one conversation," he admits. "I’m sure they want to stay as far away from us as possible but I love Damon Lindeloff I’m so excited to see what they will do. I’d love to play [Dan] now but no there’s been no talk, I’m just a fan like you are." Well, that's a shame but the TV series will no doubt start from scratch and bringing back the same actors could end up being a major distraction.

He was easily one of the best things about the movie.

I hope they don't bring him back. Wilson and Akerman were awful in the movie. I usually skip most of the scenes involving those 2.

Did you guys saw him in Fargo? Imo he was absolutely fantástic in that, this guy should be the lead in more stuff. He could have played Aquaman himself

Things like this don't happen. It's like the voice actor for a character playing the live action version. But still i'd love to see him back.

I'm really glad I didn't read the graphic novel before watching the film. Mainly because I was so caught of guard by Rorschach's death. My jaw dropped.

@RasAlGhul - It's pretty much the same ending, except Oz teleports a giant alien squid thing on top of NYC instead of using Dr. Manhattan's powers. I like both, but I think changing it for the movie was a smart decision. I just don't see the giant alien ending working as well in live action.

I thought he did play him again. Wasn't he in Justice League? Or did Batman just borrow his cowl?

I'd like to reenact scenes with Malin Akerman...

Watchmen is my favourite graphic novel. And while the movie is flawed; other than Sin City, Watchmen the Directurs/Ultimate cut are the most faithful comic book adaptations out there. I would want a 12 episode miniseries, each episode for each chapter.

I enjoyed Patrick as Dan, though he was third behind Jackie and Billy as Rorschach and Dr. Manhattan, but I want the series to be it's own thing. Don't hire people from the movie. I don't think anyone will do a better job than Jackie as Rorschach, but I still want them to go with a different actor, maybe more in line with Alan Moore's monotone and emotionless version that he intended.

I really liked Alan Moore's version, I hope they get someone to do that interpretation.
