I loved this movie, pretty much everything about it. It was even better than i had hoped. Is it perfect? Of course not! But neither was the graphic novel on which its based (i can hear the Moorites loading ther slingshots!)
The performances are spot on, standouts being Healey as Rorschach, Morgan as The Comedian and Wilson as Nite Owl. Im a bit baffled at the negative response to Goodes Ozymandiaz because he was also very good. The weak link is Aikermann as Silk Spectre. Its not that shes bad, she just doesnt match up to the performances around her. And her interpretation of Spectre comes off a little whiny and self indulgent. Billy Crudup is fantastic as Manhatten and the cgi is impeccable. His origin sequence is by far the standout scene. The only scene that really does not work is the sex scene. Im not sure id if Snyder thought it was sexy or it was played for laughs in the first place but it just comes accross cringy and gratuitous. Another thing that annoyed me was the exclusion of Hollis Masons death scene. Dan never even hears about it in the movie! I understand cutting things for time constraints but surely it would have been better to take out some Silly slo mo sex and put Mr Mason in. Its all going to be on the directors cut of course..but what good is that? iv already seen the damn movie in the cinema! One thing that i was pleasantly surprised with was how much i came to love Dr Ms voice. It would have been obvious to go for a boomy godlike roar but as is it comes off much more creepy and sad..that this near deity still speaks with such a human voice. The violence is graphic..in fact not only is it the most violent comic book movie ever..its a strong contender for most violent, period! And i loved it! Every broken bone and cleavered head was music to my ears. The music for the most part works perfectly. Some great tunes in there...with the exception of 99 red balloons maybe! And the much praised opening credits sequence to Dylans Times they are a changin really is the best opening sequence i have ever seen.
im not going to go into plot details but rest assured, despite what any extremist fanboy might say, Zack Snyder gets "it". And he has crafted a truly original, epic, stylish, very very faithful movie. It will only be the most stubborn of fanboys that wont see that for a fact..with or without the bloody squid!

I thought Goodes Ozymandiaz was amazing, I really liked his performance !! & the last fight with Veidt against Nite Owl & Rorschach was intence !! way better then the small fight they have in the novel

I also thought Ozy was well portrayed. And I think my complaint about the lack of squid is the fact that it leaves people who havent read it wondering what the hell was up with Bubastis. What he was, where he came from? I also would have liked to see more attention paid to the regular people of the city like the newsvendor and kid reading the comic book and the two lesbians. It makes the tragedy at the end that much more real for fans. But I did love the movie and thought it was a great interpretation of comic. As close as you can get it without going over board on the length.
