Despite yet another release date delay, there's a lot of intrigue surrounding WandaVision spin-off Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. Kathryn Hahn will return as Agatha Harkness for what's widely believed to be a story that's going to also put the resurrected Billy Maximoff front and centre.
Darkhold Diaries is the Disney+ TV show's latest name change after it was previously dubbed Agatha: House of Harkness and Agatha: Coven of Chaos, prompting fans to wonder what's going on.
However, rather than this being an example of indecision on Marvel Studios' part, it appears it's a deliberate move (perhaps suggesting the title will change on a weekly basis). The Walt Disney Company's President of Marketing has even hinted that something strange is going on.
Variety also recently reported the latest alteration is "a suggestion that Agatha is up to her old skulduggery."
In related news, we also have additional details about how Billy makes his return and what leads to the teenager tracking down Agatha for help. It seems likely he'll free the villain from her mental prison as a result of having no memory of what she did to his mother and father, the Scarlet Witch and The Vision.
Little in the way of official plot details have been revealed for Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, though one recent rumour claimed much of the series will revolve around the daughters of the witches from Evanora Harkness' coven - now known as the Salem Seven - coming back to claim their revenge.
Mephisto is also expected to appear, possibly played by Sacha Baron Cohen.
We're also going to head back to Westview as the show's supporting cast features a number of familiar faces from WandaVision, including Emma Caulfield Ford (Sarah Proctor), Debra Jo Rupp (Sharon Davis), David Payton (John Collins), David Lengel (Harold Proctor), Asif Ali (Abilash Tandon), Amos Glick (Dennis), Brian Brightman (Sheriff Miller), and Kate Forbes (Evanora Harkness).
Other actors set to appear include Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, and Maria Dizzia.
Agatha: House of Darkness Coven of Chaos Darkhold Diaries is currently expected to premiere on Disney+ in the fall of 2024.
