AGATHA: DARKHOLD DIARIES - There May Be A Good Reason For The Show's Continuous Title Changes

It appears there's a reason for Marvel Studios' Agatha getting yet another new subtitle, Darkhold Diaries, while additional details have been revealed about Billy Maximoff's role in the Disney+ series.

Despite yet another release date delay, there's a lot of intrigue surrounding WandaVision spin-off Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. Kathryn Hahn will return as Agatha Harkness for what's widely believed to be a story that's going to also put the resurrected Billy Maximoff front and centre.

Darkhold Diaries is the Disney+ TV show's latest name change after it was previously dubbed Agatha: House of Harkness and Agatha: Coven of Chaos, prompting fans to wonder what's going on.

However, rather than this being an example of indecision on Marvel Studios' part, it appears it's a deliberate move (perhaps suggesting the title will change on a weekly basis). The Walt Disney Company's President of Marketing has even hinted that something strange is going on.

Variety also recently reported the latest alteration is "a suggestion that Agatha is up to her old skulduggery."

In related news, we also have additional details about how Billy makes his return and what leads to the teenager tracking down Agatha for help. It seems likely he'll free the villain from her mental prison as a result of having no memory of what she did to his mother and father, the Scarlet Witch and The Vision.

Little in the way of official plot details have been revealed for Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, though one recent rumour claimed much of the series will revolve around the daughters of the witches from Evanora Harkness' coven - now known as the Salem Seven - coming back to claim their revenge.

Mephisto is also expected to appear, possibly played by Sacha Baron Cohen.

We're also going to head back to Westview as the show's supporting cast features a number of familiar faces from WandaVision, including Emma Caulfield Ford (Sarah Proctor), Debra Jo Rupp (Sharon Davis), David Payton (John Collins), David Lengel (Harold Proctor), Asif Ali (Abilash Tandon), Amos Glick (Dennis), Brian Brightman (Sheriff Miller), and Kate Forbes (Evanora Harkness).

Other actors set to appear include Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, and Maria Dizzia.

Agatha: House of Darkness Coven of Chaos Darkhold Diaries is currently expected to premiere on Disney+ in the fall of 2024.

That's just cringey bullshit. Disney has no creativity left.

@WarMonkey - The master of subtitles speaks! Please tell us what level of creativity it takes to make subtitles! You must have brilliant ideas that have never been done!

@WarMonkey - Them making an Agatha show already means there's no creativity left. Agatha was just a smart and witty twist, nothing more or less. Its already stupid to give her a show when even in the comics, there's nothing much on her.

Similar to the DCU rant, "why the [frick] are some of these unknown characters getting a greenlight before the more popular characters?" Its stupid.

So if the subtitle changes every week, it'll basically just be episode titles? I like the idea, but they should've just called the show 'Agatha' without subtitle in my opinion

@bkmeijer1 - it does suggest that something significant will change with each episode if it’s a title change and not just an episode one.

@Chewtoy - I guess so yeah. With it's original title I kinda expected an anthology series (because House of Harkness kinda sounds like Hammer House of Horror), so each episode could be a major story on itself indeed

So her magic is changing the show title, and presumably the theme of the show? Is this just trying to tie to WandaVision?

I would love if the Title of the show was "Agatha" (all ALOOOONG!!!) and then they ditch the subtitles completely when it plays her Theme music from WV...

Meta explanation that enhances the show 😝

@xfan320 - If these changes being deliberate are true, it would 100% not surprise me if the "actual" title (aka the title of the final episode) is, indeed, "Agatha All Along." All three subtitles thus far being alliterative would set that up.

Who cares? This is all just made up by K.E.V.I.N. It’s all just a TV show inside a TV show.

Its weird, the comments from Elizabeth Olsen about Wanda imply there is no real current plan for her. Im not sure why (if rumor is true) you would have this show and introduce her kids. Like what is the point of Agatha without Wanda?
