RATINGS: Marvel's AGENT CARTER Debuts With Solid (But Not Amazing) Numbers

Agent Carter premiered on ABC last night with no shortage of positive reviews, and while the double bill topped the ratings of all but Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s season two premiere, the numbers have been described as "moderate" and "middling". Hit the jump for details...

There was a lot of buzz surrounding the premiere of Agent Carter, especially with the promise that the first trailer for Ant-Man would accompany it (it did, but not right until the very end). Regardless, reviews have been positive, and fans who watched last night have mostly had nothing but good things to say. Despite all of this, the ratings were just ok. It came in second to NCIS, but did manage to outperform all but the season two premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Carter did a 1.9 rating/6 share in adults 18-49 and 6.7 million viewers overall. These are solid numbers, but are still viewed as "middling" for such a hyped series premiere. Ratings slipped thoughout the night - not significantly, but it does appear as if some young adult viewers lost interest - but the chances of a second season likely won't become clear for a number of weeks. What do you guys think?

It probably has to do more with pre-knowledge. I would have had no idea this show existed if it wasn't for CBM.

I liked it. But I do think it has a semi case of it trying to be cool.

Like a lot of media today there is too many series that come off saying, "Hey, look! I'm cool!"

When you're cool, you don't need to tell anyone.

OK. I watched it and I liked it better than AOS. It had better developed characters right off the bat and a far more interesting storyline than AOS the season.

I like that they don't dive into a love interest… You know cuz Cap is a Capcycle… So less time for stupid emotions more time for cool action.

Good numbers for a January premiere of a miniseries. And it was a great 2 hours of TV.
