AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. And It's Future in the MCU

Well folks, I gotta get up at midnight to drive to Texas for a duck hunt. So I'm gonna make this short, sweet and simple. I've got some predictions for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and without going into detail of why I think them I'm just gonna come out and say it. Y'all know my articles are usually lengthy, but I've got shit to do. So, here we go:

Before the end of Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s mid-season finale on December 9th, I believe Grant Ward will sacrifice himself to save somebody, specifically Skye or perhaps the team.

The Obelisk contains a Terrigen Crystal. It kills anybody who touches it except those with Kree DNA. So Skye, Raina, and probably Coulson should all be safe.

It could be the Terrigen Crystal-containing Obelisk that winds up giving Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch their powers. It'd be a lovely way for the show to connect to next year's Age of Ultron.

Skye will turn out to be an Inhuman version of Daisy Johnson, AKA Quake.

Coulson and Trip will both be in Age of Ultron, where it will come as a surprise to all of the Avengers that Coulson isn't dead, and neither is S.H.I.E.L.D.

That's all I got, folks. Let me know what you think of my speculation in the comment section below!

This show will have no impact on the MCU, the MCU will dictate what happens in this show.......... also this show is around as a say to promote the movies.

@GliderMan Ugh, I definitely would've read this by now...but I'm not fully caught up on Agents of SHIELD yet, so I don't want to read this and spoil myself haha. I only just got up to when the show crossed over with the events of The Winter Soldier, so I'm guessing I have a ways to go!

But I'll throw in my (VERY uneducated) 2 cents anyway. I keep hearing that the show just might be setting up the Inhumans and the city of Attilan...so if that's really the case, then that's massive. That shows that Feige is willing to let plot elements be "spoiled" in the show before the movies ever get to them. That also lays the groundwork for stuff like the Twins to potentially be revealed as Inhumans as well, and for a decent chunk of the Age of Ultron audience, that revelation won't be coming out of nowhere. Ditto the solo Inhumans movie that was recently announced too.

So while the show probably still has to ride on the movie's coattails for the most part, I think the show still has a chance to impact the rest of the MCU. Not in earth-shattering ways (like the collapse of SHIELD or anything like that), but maybe some events and plot elements that could prove to be significant enough.

@JoeMomma29

This show also has an impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe e.g. Coulson becoming the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Very nice article, short, sweet and to the point. I couldn't agree more with what you have said. I also believe that this current season of Shield will tie in more closely as to the happenings of the MCU. shield is being used as a back door to introduce the Inhumans slowly into the MCU. I wouldn't be surprised that Marvel will include some of the key characters in Agents of Shield in future Marvel films. Very nice write up sir.

Interesting. I never envisioned Skye as Quake but in my own editorial written a long while ago, I admitted I wanted the character to appear. My own choice Quake though would have been Sofia D'Elia. But I be interested if Skye was Quake somehow.

Glider, this is probably some of the smartest things I've ever heard you say. So this makes me think you're an imposter. The real Glider couldn't have figured this out.
