Agents of SHIELD producers Jeffery Bell and Jeph Joeb sat down with TV Guide this week to talk about the final two episodes in Marvel's maiden TV show. While there they teased that not all of the characters we know and love will be left standing at the end of the series as well as the possibility of a redemption for Brett Dalton's Hydra sleeper, Agent Ward.
When asked about where the show would be going in the last two episodes Jeffery Bell had this to say:
It's a "Who Survives" story and much more. Our show becomes one big landgrab. There are former SHIELD agents and Hydra cells now scattered out all over the world and no one knows who to trust. That's a very rich, exciting thing to explore as we move forward.
The duo assured the show's audience that more of Skye's parentage would be explored by the end of the season as well as dropping hints that Ward might be helping Coulson all along, Jeph Loeb had this to say:
Expect more on the true parentage of Skye. [On Ward] He may be a good man who was programmed to be bad or a triple agent secretly working for Coulson all along, or exactly what he seems - an evil son of a bitch. By the end of the season you'll be able to make your own decision on that.
