Coulson returned from Maveth victorious, but the team still needs to track down Malick. Fortunately they might have a new batch of Inhumans to give them a hand... unless they turn out to be villains, that is!

After the events of the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. midseason finale Coulson believes he put an end to Ward once and for all, but of course we know that's not quite true - so it's safe to say the team are going to be in for a bit of a surprise when they focus their efforts on hunting down Gideon Malick, who has now aligned himself with "UnWard".

The synopsis below also reveals that we'll be getting a few more Inhuman characters when the show returns in March. Will we see any established Marvel Comics faces, perhaps?

“In the aftermath of his trip to Maveth, Coulson is more determined than ever to get to Gideon Malick and put an end to Hydra once and for all. Daisy and the team encounter more Inhumans who have powers like they’ve never seen before, but will they be friends or enemies of S.H.I.E.L.D.?”

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns to ABC on Tuesday, March 8 at 9 p.m.

Can't wait to see what Ward is up to now that he is obsessed.

@Savage1991 - Excellent use of the word "obsessed".

@Savage1991 - When has Ward not been obsessed?

@ScionStorm - Too true... but I sense Savage1991 meant this in a demonic senese; check out the word's etymology: obsession (n.) 1510s, "action of besieging," from French obsession and directly from Latin obsessionem (nominative obsessio) "siege, blockade, a blocking up," noun of action from past participle stem of obsidere "to besiege" (see obsess). Later (c. 1600), "hostile action of an evil spirit" (like possession but without the spirit actually inhabiting the body). Transferred sense of "action of anything which engrosses the mind" is from 1670s. Psychological sense is from 1901.

@MagnusShadowX - I used to hate this show and only went back because season 2 had Lucy Lawless in it, and my brother promised me that it had got better. Glad I gave it another chance as it definitely stepped up.

It'd be kinda funny if it was in the show's "bible" that they have to completely reinvent the Ward character every 12-15 episodes.

@BackwardGalaxy - This whole thing currently reminds me of what was done to Fred with the whole Lyra possession in the last season of Angel.

Slingshot is coming. I believe I read that the producers cast Natalia Cordova-Buckley back in November to play the character. Her powers would be pretty easy for the VFX people to adapt on television.

I still think there might be a twist with Lincoln. I know Andrew is messed up, but he did say that Lincoln "has a dark side", so I think they were foreshadowing something there.

@crabnado they have already revealed absorbing man to be older than he looked because he fought Daredevil's Dad when Daredevil was only 9 years old.

In light of the DC TV universe, I really wish they would show more super powered characters. Flash and Super-Girl have showcased loads of DC heroes and villains. This show is like the red-headed stepchild of the MCU.

An Agents of Shield news??

Wow.Excited for the debut of secret Warriors and UnWard. Hopefully that thing inside him isn't a one-off villain and actually has depth.

Would also love to see more super-poers which AoS has been lacking. But their emphasis in characters rather than being comic-booky ir superheroic is what made me love this show.
