Next Friday, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. finishes the second part of its epic two-parter "Collision Course," as a new extinction-level threat descends upon the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sarge (Clark Gregg) takes the fight to Izel, leading to an all out brawl at 40,000 feet with team S.H.I.E.L.D. against Sarge and his goons over control of the Zephyr.

With Sarge heading straight towards the Lazy Comet, Izel informs FitzSimmons that their lives are now in danger. Meanwhile, Sarge's truck is racing towards the shrike tower with an atomic bomb that threatens to not only vaporize the shrikes, but also Daisy, May, Deke and Snowflake. It is up to Deke to diffuse the bomb and save their lives before time runs out.

@HeavyMetal4Life - one of the best villain of the MCU

@elcaballerooscuro92 - Ward was terrific, what an excellent journey for that character. My 2nd favorite SHIELD villain so far(Aida is my favorite).

I feel like this is a great opportunity to once again share my list of "great" main Marvel TV villains (some of which are some of the best villains in the MCU in general). In order of appearance:

@HeavyMetal4Life - i dont know if the pilgrim makes the list for me. But most of marvel tv villains are amazing.

@elcaballerooscuro92 - Pilgrim certainly isn't as high as say Ward, Aida, Kingpin or Dex, but I thought he was really good.

I should also add that my Billy Russo entry is for season 1, not season 2.

man i dont know who to root for here. i started to think sarge was full of shit but then izel started taking over the crew, so she is clearly evil. and sarge is a straight up asshole. i feel like an explosive that covers lets say a mile would have done the trick, not 200.

good to see that fitzsimmons issues arent completely cleared up. i can certainly see how this situation would be weird for fitz. i wonder how much of their minds the chronicoms have, because if jemma's pain and the doctor are still in there, then those chronicoms are in for a world of hurt

so it looks like the monoliths opening a tear to that fear dimension was no mistake, but perhaps what they are meant to do, perhaps when brought together, kinda like the shrike

@lemric - with the stones seemingly destroyed last season, I wonder what Izel will do. And yeah, wonder if the fear dimension will come into play again.

Also, any idea what race Izel is? We know the Kree stole the monoliths. Wonder why the monoliths are being searched for now after all these millennia of them being gone.

@lemric - haha, lmfao. Freaking hilarious. And you know what, I dig Snowflake and Deke together. Saw someone elsewhere say we should ship them together as "Butterfly Effect" which is perfect imo.

Another week, another very strong entry from AoS. I think this is my third favorite episode of the season so far. Last week's episode and this week's were about the same strength, and while episode 7 i thought did a better job with emotion (Enoch's goodbye to FitzSimmons was terrific), last night's episode did a great job bringing (or colliding) storylines together and intertwining/connecting everything, something that has been kind of absent this season; therefore I'm giving episode 8 the upper hand. Before Collision Course Part 1, the space and earth storylines were only tangentially connected, but Part 1 fixed that and started to put the important pieces together. I loved how what Sarge was talking about would be then juxtaposed with something going on with FitzSimmons and Izel. For example, he would talk about her and then the next shot would show Izel. As I said, really great job meshing everything together, very seamless.

Before getting into story aspects, the VFX tonight was once again terrific. The shots of the Lazy Comet flying through space, buzzing past the moon and then entering the Earth's atmosphere were terrific. I saw this on a TV site, but its pretty amazing to think how far this show has come to have the episode open with the Lazy Comet flying through space. The Zephyr as always looks excellent, and Sarge getting on top of his truck began a standout sequence from the episode; him opening a portal and entering the Zephyr was brilliant, loved how it was filmed, with the cameras shifting as he 'fell' into the plane and then shot an agent like a boss.

This episode had some great tension and kept me on the edge of my seat guessing. It really threw a wrench into the season and made me less certain of who or what the true threat is. Before, I was believing Sarge but then Izel started to speak about her journey and how she described everything was such a sharp contrast to how Sarge described her that now I don't know who to believe. Sarge is a dick who cares little about collateral damage and has no desire to share important secrets, while Izel is clearly the creator and using the shrikes for seemingly nefarious reasons, but perhaps she isn't the demon she has been described to be... This dichotomy was another terrific aspect of the episode, very well done. Just when you think you've got everything figured out, the showrunners pull a fast one on ya, lol. Plus, Izel knows who or what Sarge really is, which made things much more interesting too.

Okay, FitzSimmons. Loved the discussion about Fitz and other Fitz's wedding and wedding night. The look on his face was priceless every time Jemma said something. Poor Fitz... Also love the inside joke to Jemma mind tripping on those puffs.

I dig Snowflake and Deke together, and of the rest of Sarge's crew, Snowflake has been my favorite (the actress has so much fun portraying her), though I do like Jaco too, would love to learn more about him. Snowflake potentially working with SHIELD was unexpected, as was Sarge betraying her.

Looking forward to next week's episode!!

Also, Enoch. That lovable synth returns!! Didn't expect to see him back so soon, figured he would return in the last episode or two of the season, but not this fast. Wonder how prevalent his storyline will be now, how much we will see of his efforts to gather together the rest of the Chronicom anthropologists to rebuild their society. Also, loved some of the dialogue here:
"You look the same." "As do you."
"You've always been very reckless." "And you, cautious." LMFAO

Seems the Chronicoms mapped or copied both Fitz and Simmon's brains. That's not good, especially with Leopold and Night of the Living Dead Jemma in there... Wonder if this will factor into season 7.

And all this talk of demons and coming from a place of hate and fear, etc. gave me Ghost Rider vibes. Wonder if Robbie will return before the season is over, which would also help set his show up further.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I totally agree that a Ghost Rider should factor into resolving this threat (or someone with a connection to the dark and mystical side of Marvel).

This show has lost me. I just watch it because I’m board and I watch all the marvel shows. It was cooler when it had ghost rider and absorbing man and notable characters instead of a bunch of wacky made up ones. Izel, she wears a red wig, what an intimidating villain! Coulson, who just to be a funny lovable guy, is now a gruff scumbag named “sarge.” Come on, this is tough to watch.

I'm not sure if anyone else is delving into this but I think Izel and Sarge have a bit more of a personal connection than he is letting on. In fact, I don't think he has told the truth about anything to anyone. His story isn't adding up and I don't know if it's deception, my bad memory, or plot holes. Mainly, how did he know that Izel's next attack would be on Earth? After she left left the Chronicom(?) home world her next stop was Kitson. She was on that planet for an unknown amount of time but never sent out Shrike to enslave its population and drain life from the planet. I just don't trust Sarge.

It really doesnt take a rocket scientist to realize that. They're basically telling us exactly that.
