THE DEFENDERS Actor Charlie Cox Teases Elements Of The Born Again Arc For DAREDEVIL Season 3

If you haven't watched all of The Defenders yet then read no further, as SPOILERS for the season finale follow.

In the closing moments of the last episode of The Defenders we find out that Matt Murdock actually survived the explosion that led to him being presumed dead by everyone in his life, and is being nursed back to health by a group of nuns. Fans of Frank Miller's Born Again comic arc immediately recognised this scenarios, and began to speculate that the upcoming third season of Daredevil might take influence from the much-loved, but controversial story.

Charlie Cox was asked about this during an interview with THR, and admitted that some elements of that particular arc could find their way in - although he also points out that the Netflix shows don't tend to "follow any story blueprints too closely."

"There may be elements from Born Again, but I'm sure there will be elements that are unfamiliar and surprising and different in order for the show to be compelling to fans who know the comics very well. If we start making Born Again page-for-page, then the people who have read it and loved it — the hardcore fans — they won't have too much drama."

Born Again finds Murdock at his lowest point, and Karen Page has an even worse time of things. Though the Marvel/Netflix has never shied away from going to some very dark places, it's probably best that they won't be going with a direct adaptation!

What do you guys think? Would you like certain aspects of Born Again influence Daredevil season 3?

I expect nothing but greatness. Getting back to season 1 basics. A singular storyline and a conflict between Matt and Fisk once again. The DD guys shine when not dabbling in the mystical to be honest. When they're dealing with the grit and grime of Matt's life, it's perfect. The Hand convoluted things but now we're getting back to what made season 1 so stellar.

Hope we get the DD impostor

@BlackBeltJones - What if Bullseye starts off as a Daredevil imposter, then gets his own costume later on in the season?
