HAWKEYE Finale Was Originally Going To Have A Different Post-Credits Scene, But It Didn't Involve Kingpin

Coming off a recent rumor that the Hawkeye season finale was going to feature a Kingpin-centric post-credits scene, we have details on a scrapped sequence that was actually going to be included.

Last week's Hawkeye finale did include a post-credits scene, but instead of setting up a second season or hinting at what's to come for our heroic archers, it featured a full performance of a song from Rogers: The Musical. It was a fun little callback to the show Clint Barton saw with his kids in the first episode, but not exactly what fans were hoping to see from an MCU stinger!

A rumor that a scene involving Wilson Fisk was considered did the rounds shortly after, but we now have details on the sequence that was originally planned.

According to animator Elaina Scott, the scrapped stinger would have seen the return of that owl Barton spotted when he fell into the Christmas tree. When Kate shrank the Tracksuit Mafia's van with the Pym-particles trick arrow, the owl swooped down and carried it away. Apparently, we were going to see the little fella carry the van to his nest. We're not sure what else the sequence would have entailed, but we assume the implication was that the owl would have attempted to eat the Bros or feed them to his chicks - probably a little dark for this particular show!

We still don't know if Hawkeye will get a second season, but Maya Lopez's story will continue in Echo, which will also (hopefully) see the return of Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin.

What did you guys make of Hawkeye? Where would you rank it in the Disney+ Marvel shows we've seen so far?

Anyone else find Maya not even remotely interesting enough for an own show?

@TomV - it’s a little hard cause she’s mute + they barely gave her screen time but who knows maybe they’ll fix it

@TomV - Can't think how she got her own show.... DEF Disney's attempt to be "open" and shit....

@TomV - Same. She did a great job, but why she's getting her OWN show is beyond me. I guess they expected the character to be a fan favorite when all was said and done?

So how can you be shrunk by Pym particles and survive without being in a suit? Or is the suit only necessary for entering the Quantum Realm? Also how does Ant-Man become lighter but retain his strength when he's tiny? Has this all been explained in the movie and I just don't remember?

Someone teach me things, please.

@RitoRevolto - I think they establish in Ant Man and the Wasp that if are in a car or building that’s shrinks you’re fine. Basically as long as pun particles don’t directly touch organic material whatever is inside of them shrinks and is safe. As for him being lifted it’s about density. He is physically lighter bc he’s smaller but he is just as dense bc what’s happening is the distance between his atoms just get smaller. It’s almost like vacuum sealing a Teddy bear it gets smaller but it’s the same amount of stuff inside

@Ha1frican - gotta watch out for those pun particles.

@Ha1frican - They kind of changed the rules they established in the first movie as far as the suit's helmet design and purpose in just this one scene alone. (Getting big or small without the helmet wasn't supposed to be doable when the first movie came around.)

@MosquitoFarmer - As I understand at this shrinking rate it's ok to be without the helmet.

Problem would be to breathe when you're about the same size as the oxygen molecules, or even smaller.

A little dark for this show🤦🏽‍♂️What’s the target audience? Teenagers are dark: is it tweens? Big kids? I remember a guy being shrunk into bubble gum and disposed of. Personally I like where they left it with the Bros being carried away

Am I the only one who thinks an owl eating humans is pretty freaking dark and gory? Owls are vicious.

Worst post Cred ever… I actually thought that we were going to get the owl in the post cred

Am I the only one who think that it would be a fun running gag to have the TSM guys in the van just show up in future MCU movies/D+ shows? Like the owl (Rocky) just flies in in the background carrying the van with these two little screaming guys in it? Yes, yes, I know that in real life the owl would have eaten the guys or fed them to his/her children, BUT those guys could have easily hid in the back of the van and it would have taken the owl A LOT of work to get them out (remember if you somehow have a degree in Pym physics (which I don't) the particles just reduce the space between the atoms, etc., etc.). But I just think that it would be funny if those guys in their van somehow showed up in the next "Ant-Man" movie or something. Especially as Clint mentioned having to as Scott about that. And, yes, I know that "Hawkeye" takes place in New York and "Ant-Man" is usually in San Francisco. But to that argument I will direct you to the "swallow carrying a coconut by its husk" argument from "MPatHG" (I don't feel like writing the whole title out) ;)

After the post credits Broadway show ended, and the audience was applauding, I really was expecting a close-up of Yelena sitting in the theater with the same look on her face that Clint had when he was watching it.

@gremlin22 - This would've been a good choice for a stringer, after all Yelena did say that it was her first time in New York.

As Hawkeye was a Christmas show, ending with an owl taking tiny bros to its nest and implying their owl food is NOT the ending I would support. To me that is not funny. Marvel Studios was right to go in the direction of giving us the full version of Rogers: The Musical. Because the fans would be demanding to see the 'Rogers cut' and won't let it go. As a Christmas present, Marvel Studios did the right thing.

I think my disappointment is I would liked to had seen a gag at the end of the performance. Yelena watching in disbelief probably wouldn't had been right seeing her sister represented but a character like Jack really getting into it would had been funny.
