There's been a lot of concern for Jeremy Renner following his serious accident on new year's day near his home in Northern Nevada, but the Hawkeye star has now undergone successful surgery, and regained consciousness.
Renner shared the following message to Instagram, thanking his fans for their support.
“Thank you all for your kind words. I‘m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”
We also have more details on what actually happened, and it's come to light that Renner was runover by his own snowplow when he attempted to regain control of the vehicle.
“After successfully towing his personal vehicle from its stuck location, Mr. Renner got out of his PistenBully to speak with his family member,” Sheriff Darin Balaam (via THR) said. “At this point, it is observed that the PistenBully started to roll. In an effort to stop the rolling PistenBully, Mr. Renner attempts to get back into the driver seat of the PistenBully. Based on our investigation, it’s at this point that Mr. Renner is run over by the PistenBully.”
Renner is not believed to have been impaired, and the authorities are treating the incident as a "tragic accident."
Though it's obviously a great sign that Renner is awake and updating his social media followers, he has a long road to full recovery ahead. We hope to see him back in the MCU firing arrows at bad guys by the time Avengers: The Kang Dynasty roles around.
