HAWKEYE's Season Finale Featured The Show's First Post-Credits Scene, But Is It Worth Waiting For? - SPOILERS

We have a lot to discuss after today's blockbuster season finale of Hawkeye, but with the series finally delivering a post-credits scene, here's what you need to know about whether you should wait for it.

We were hoping Hawkeye's season finale would have one last surprise for us, and it certainly did...it just wasn't what we were expecting! After the story wraps up and we finally get to learn whether Clint Barton makes it home in time for Christmas, the show delivers its first and only post-credits scene.

After a message appears on screen wishing fans a Happy Holidays from Marvel Studios, we're taken back to Rogers: The Musical and treated to a performance of "I Can Do This All Day" in its entirety.

The song has already been released (you can listen below), but now we get to see the entire musical number from start to finish. It's certainly good fun, but not exactly what some fans will have been hoping for, especially after that ambiguity surrounding a certain big bad's final fate

Not every post-credits scene has to set up the next big story, of course, but it would have been nice to get something for Echo at the very least. It's also worth noting that, unlike Loki, there was no announcement of a Hawkeye season 2. That's surprising, especially when the response to the series has been so overwhelmingly positive. Knowing Marvel Studios, though, there are already plans in place for Clint and Kate Bishop elsewhere in the MCU.

So, is it worth sticking around for this stinger? It depends on how much you like musicals...

@DarthOmega - pretty much.

@DarthOmega - Yup. I only sat through it because I was waiting for the camera to pan back to show Matt Murdock and Foggy sitting in the back row. Then Foggy turning to Matt and saying “God, you have no idea how much I envy you right now…”

So disappointed 😔

I love the dynamic between Yelena and Kate. The elevator scene is a lot of fun.

Also, it was great to see Jack fighting with the sword.

Loved the show until everything they did with Fisk. Absolutely fine if Kate beats him, but the tame, almost cowardly version of Fisk was a massive disappointment. Biggest let down in the MCU. Do a second season and just make it a sitcom with Kate and Yelena as roommates who fight crime. Introduce a third roommate who’s oblivious to it all and it’d be great fun.

@SamaelSaint - I didn’t think he was tame or cowardly at all, just a guy who loved his fostered daughter

@SamaelSaint - wtf are you talking about? Dude took an arrow to the chest and a car impact yet kept going after Kate. It took a f@#$ing explosion to get him to stop.
SerKurtWagner
SerKurtWagner - 12/22/2021, 8:42 AM
@SamaelSaint - Tame? Dude literally ripped a car door off its hinges, took an arrow to the chest, walked off both getting hit by a car, was throwing Kate around like a ragdoll and then AGAIN walked off getting exploded by a whole quiver of trick arrows.

TheWalkingCuban - 12/22/2021, 9:25 AM
@SamaelSaint - tame and cowardly? Heck you talkin bout?
PhoenixBlade
PhoenixBlade - 12/22/2021, 1:05 PM
@TheWalkingCuban - @SerKurtWagner - @Origame - He’s an unhinged psychopath in Daredevil and gets a kick out of beating people to death. To just be throwing Kate around was tame. Wasn’t at all brutal or unhinged. Clint got more of a beat down from Yelena.
MrDandy
MrDandy - 12/22/2021, 1:05 PM
@SamaelSaint - I don't think it was tame. It was in line with his Daredevil portrayal of Kingpin as highly emotional and family driven.
PhoenixBlade
PhoenixBlade - 12/22/2021, 1:11 PM
@MrDandy - Character arc was in line, but the physical prowess was like introducing Wolverine without his claws. I felt massively underwhelmed. Others don’t and that’s fine. Just for me personally it’s a big downgrade and put a dampener on the rest of the show which I really loved. Would’ve preferred he never turned up. Still alive obviously since we never see the body. They’ll bring him back in something, but again, imagine this version up against the Daredevil version. He’d be dead in two seconds.
TheWalkingCuban
TheWalkingCuban - 12/22/2021, 1:19 PM
@SamaelSaint - he was gonna do that to her mom. Kate was a mosquito he swatted away, a mosquito that got the drop on em
PeterDarker121
PeterDarker121 - 12/22/2021, 1:19 PM
@SamaelSaint - Yelena obviously had more of a motivation to go Death-Blow-Nation on Clint. Fisk just saw Kate as what she was: A newbie kid (understandably trying to protect her moms) and minor annoyance like a gnat. lol "Tame" has nothing to do with anything and it would've made zero sense for him to want to "beat her to death."
PhoenixBlade
PhoenixBlade - 12/22/2021, 2:14 PM
@TheWalkingCuban - Going to do it and seeing it are very different things. We never saw that brutality. I really don’t think I'm gonna be converted on this one. Just really wasn’t for me.
PhoenixBlade
PhoenixBlade - 12/22/2021, 2:19 PM
@PeterDarker121 - See I’d disagree. An annoyance who just tried to kill you is 100% within Fisks’ motives to punish that individual. Someone getting in the way of his goals, which is exactly what Daredevil was. The equivalent of Kate in the Netflix show would’ve had her skull crushed. I wasn’t feeling it at all. Not trying to take anything away from what others got from it. Just personally I don’t think I’ll see it your way. Like I said to someone else, it was like Wolverine with no claws.
TheWalkingCuban
TheWalkingCuban - 12/22/2021, 2:19 PM
@SamaelSaint - I will say that Kate stopped him from that, but you won’t be converted so I’ll play the devil’s advocate against myself: Hawaiian shirt and track suit mafia sounds more like a boss on Bad Boys or fast n furious than it does the Fisk from DD. I still stand by that fight, but I have thoughts on other stuff too.
PhoenixBlade
PhoenixBlade - 12/22/2021, 2:40 PM
@TheWalkingCuban - I don’t have a problem with Kate winning. Circumstances lead to that. But Fisk, I guess was like those cake videos. Imagine seeing a big juicy steak and really wanting that steak and you cut into it and it’s a cake. Nothing wrong with a cake, but there’s nothing you’d want less than a cake right now.
TheWalkingCuban
TheWalkingCuban - 12/22/2021, 2:43 PM
@SamaelSaint - dang that sounds amazing if it’s wedding cake, or a cake that’s really a ribeye, alright I’m gonna have to look those videos up LOL but yesh I get your point. I felt he wasn’t just himself, he was way stronger to boot.
Origame
Origame - 12/22/2021, 2:43 PM
@SamaelSaint - ...you are aware that the Netflix shows were basically r rated right? Did you really expect him to do something like the door smashing scene here? For the fact it was made for the equivalent of a pg13 movie, I'd say it's fine.
PhoenixBlade
PhoenixBlade - 12/22/2021, 3:28 PM
@TheWalkingCuban - Yeah he was stronger. Just not as unhinged.
PhoenixBlade
PhoenixBlade - 12/22/2021, 3:30 PM
@Origame - Of course I wasn’t expecting that. But there’s plenty of PG13 films that have portrayed that brutality without the gore. The beat down Green Goblin gives Spider-Man in the first film was considerably more aggressive and unhinged. While throwing someone around was very Saturday morning cartoon. Hell the beat down Bucky gives Cap was more brutal. He’s a violent character. At least depict that. Not trying to convince you of anything. Only expressing myself.
TheWalkingCuban
TheWalkingCuban - 12/22/2021, 3:33 PM
@SamaelSaint - the door was certainly unhinged

They ain't foolin' anyone with Fisk... C'mon man. Also I'd have preferred an actual post credits stinger, but they can't all be bangers. This felt like that Captain America PSA after Homecoming.

Really enjoyed Hawkeye overall & people are really missing out if they're sleeping on this becaus ethey find Hawkeye to be the 'boring' Avenger. Should definitely watch if they've watched at least one or any of the others.

But, the end credit was pretty disappointing, especially for how good this show ahs been overall.

I doubt we're getting a Hawkeye season 2, but the end credit could have been Fisk getting the new Eye, something with Maya leading to her show, Daredevil (Seeing as he's supposed to be in Echo) etc. Didn't have to be something too big, but this definitely warranted / needed a foreshadowing credit than a wasted one. I was even expecting to maybes just see Yolena sitting there watching the show & like roll her eyes at it or have some snarky remark about it but not even that.
