Eleven days after Daredevil season one premiered, Netflix announced plans for season 2. It's been 13 days since Jessica Jones premiered last month but we still don't know if Krysten RItter's Alias Investigations will be solving more mysteries in a second season. Jones will definitely feature in The Defenders and will likely feature in Luke Cage's solo series but who knows whether the dangling plot threads from her solo series will be wrapped up in other shows.
Speaking on that very subject, Jessica Jones showrunner Melissa Rosenberg stated, "I’d love that. Me, personally – I’m ready to go," regarding a second season. She continued, "Marvel has a lot going on. So does Netflix. So I don’t know if a second season fits into this schedule, when, whether or not we’ll get one. I don’t know any of that. I personally, I’m ready to jump in now. I’ve had some time off. I needed some time off! It was a really hard run."
Rosenberg is also unsure just how much influence she'll have over the character of Jessica Jones, as she's depicted in the other Netflix series. But she's confident that Ritter will be a watchful caretaker, regardless of whether her input is sought on Luke Cage or The Defenders. "What I have is Krysten Ritter, and she and I are on exactly the same page with this character. And that is a women that will not do something that violates the character in any way. So if I have nothing to do with it, I trust that she’s going to be the protector of the character."
