LOKI Reveals The True Identity Of Sophia Di Martino's Mysterious New Addition To The MCU - SPOILERS

You may think you know the truth about Sophia Di Martino's "Variant" after a week of leaks, but today's blockbuster episode of Loki shed a little more light on this intriguing new addition to the MCU...

We first met Sophia Di Martino's "Variant" in last week's episode of Loki, and it's since been confirmed - thanks to a listing on Disney+ and some official merchandise - that she's playing "Sylvie."

Those of you familiar with the comic books will be aware that Sylvie Lushton is also known as Enchantress. A mortal woman created by Lady Loki because she was curious to see what would happen if she made someone who believed they were an Asgardian, Sylvie would go on to join The Avengers.

However, as many of you suspected, it seems this version is, in fact, an amalgamation of characters.

When the God of Mischief says he refuses to refer to the "Variant" as "Loki," she's pleased because "that's not who I am anymore." Instead, she's created an alias for herself: Sylvie. Earlier in the episode, she also seems to take great offence to Loki referring to her as "a Loki."

As the episode progresses, Sylvie really doesn't give much away about herself, but does mention that her parents - who we're assuming are Odin and Freya - told her that she was adopted early on. However, after her mother died when Sylvie was young, she ended up teaching herself magic.

It's entirely possible that there's still more to be revealed about this mysterious new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but as of right now, we've been led to believe that she is indeed a Loki "Variant" who has chosen to move on from that moniker and instead given herself the name "Sylvie."

The plot thickens, eh?

Loved this episode and loved we got more background information on her character. Also knew the TVA was up to no good

They said the word ‘Enchant’ so many times in this episode, they could reinforce that this character is somewhat intended to be Enchantress if they tried. Despite how much I’m enjoying Sylvia, I hope this isn’t the only version of Enchantress we get in the MCU

@MikeyL - I think so too. It's probably an amalgation of Loki and Sylvie Lushton that ends up being The Enchantress. It's not like Marvel Studios changed or invented new alter-egos for characters.

Sylvie being so vague about her past was kinda distracting, but otherwise it was a fun episode. For some reason it kinda felt like certain Clone Wars episodes.

My guess right now she's a variant because she was taken from Asgard (or even earlier) when she wasn't supposed to according to the ''sacred timeline''

@bkmeijer - you gotta understand she doesn’t trust Loki and she doesn’t like the Loki moniker so i can see why she’s being vague but I’m intrigued.

@PantherKing - oh yeah, I'm definitely intrigued too. Maybe even to the extent it at times became distracting for me.
