It's now been a few years since Luke Cage was cancelled by Netflix. While characters like Daredevil and Wilson Fisk have started finding their way into the MCU (played by the same actors), we don't currently know what the future holds in store for the rest of The Defenders.
Power Man is a character with a tonne of potential on the big or small screen, so we can't see Marvel Studios leaving him on the shelf for too long. Whether actor Mike Colter will return is hard to say, but the series went quickly downhill after those first six episodes, and it's hard to escape the feeling there might be a better actor than the 45-year-old to bring the Hero for Hire to life.
Regardless, Colter recently appeared on The Rich Eisen Show and weighed in on the chances of him playing the Marvel Comics superhero again.
"There is [a possibility], I guess, I just don't know how likely it is, and I don't have anything tangible to offer," he explained. "People always ask me, 'Is it possible?' and I'm like, 'Anything's possible'. They live on rumors and I go, 'I mean, you know as much as I know.' People read those articles, that's the exact same amount of information that I have."
"I'd be open to it, yeah. I mean I had a great time, and I've had a nice break from that much action, in terms of physical action, in terms of filming a superhero show," Colter said of a possible return. "So I'd be up for it again, but when I left I was pretty tired physically. It's like when you play a sport you need a little off-season. So it was fun to take a break, you know?"
As great as it's been to see Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio reprise their roles in the MCU, that doesn't mean everyone should be brought back from these Netflix shows. Colter did a great job with the material he was given, but casting a younger actor who can take Cage on a journey from vigilante to Hero to Hire and, eventually, an Avenger arguably makes the most sense.
What do you hope the future holds in store for Power Man in the MCU?
