Speaking to MTV, Tyrese Gibson - who plays Robert Epps in the Transformers trilogy - talks yet again about his burning desire to play Luke Cage whenever Marvel Studios decides to make a film about the Power Man. He explains that Marvel should 'get it together' and 'show some respect' for the character, as well as saying that he's ready and has his headband ready for the role.

On Marvel needing to get a Luke Cage film together...

Listen, to Marvel: this is Tyrese Gibson. Get it together. Let's go ahead and shoot this comic book.
Luke Cage is one of the original Marvel characters. Show some more respect. Go ahead and get some traction going on Luke Cage.

On how ready/serious he is in playing the Hero For Hire...
I'm ready. I've got my headband ready, baby. What's the problem, officer? Go get it!

Do you want to see Tyrese Gibson take on Luke Cage, or do you want someone else to play the Power Man? Sound off your thoughts in the usual place.

I think the fan favorites are Michael Jai White and Charlie Hunnam.

If he wants it then let him do it as long as he can grasp Luke and do a great job I don't see a reason not to cast him. But I would try it out as a short film attached the Captain America or Thor to gauge audience response before I did a full on movie.

This talk about TG playing Luke Cage should be Dr. Kevorkian'ed - put out of its misery. It's never going to happen. Marvel wants actors, not models or pretty boys that turned into actors.

One of the original? He was created in 1972! Timely Publications started in 1939! Atlas Comics became the name in 1951! It became Marvel in 1961! Any way you slice it: he wasn't "one of the original Marvel characters". Just sayin'.

lol @CorndogBurglar!

I think he's a bit old for a while. His face looks swollen - a sign of aging. I would prefer someone who looks younger.

I can't see Tyrese Gibson as a comic book superhero. Why doesn't he go back to singing? The R&B world needs the return of real Slow Jamz! Show these new artists how to get the job done!

I think he meant one of the First African American Super Heroes. Im Sorry tho Tyrese I think someone with a little more Grit needs to be the lead. Marvel should present this as a Marvel Knights Production and just call it Heroes for Hire.
