Well, that was quite something, eh?
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's finale, "Whose Show Is This?", kicked off with Jennifer Walters in Emil Blonsky's old DODC cell...after a fun nod to the classic The Incredible Hulk TV series. The lawyer is freed after agreeing to wear a power inhibitor, but loses her job and apartment, resulting in her being forced to move back home.
Needing a break from her mom, Jen heads up to Emil Blonsky's retreat. At the same time, Pug and Nikki manage to infiltrate an Intelligencia meeting where it's revealed that, as expected, Todd is "HulkKing." The Abomination shows up (he's not affiliated with the group; he's just been hired to give them a motivational talk), and it's then Jen arrives on the scene as well.
Todd reveals that he got Josh to steal her blood and proceeds to transform into a Hulk. Abomination protects her from Intelligencia before Titania busts through a wall and The Hulk enters through the roof, mistakenly taking aim at Emil.
With that, Jen hits the pause button and questions what exactly is going on. Breaking out of her own show and into the Disney+ menu, she argues with She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's writers before heading to Marvel Studios to confront Kevin Feige. There, she finds a robot called "K.E.V.I.N." who is revealed to be responsible for the MCU as we know it.
We get an X-Men mention and hints that this story will continue in a movie, but Jen argues that it makes more sense for the finale to be more about her journey - accepting herself as Jen and She-Hulk - than wrapping up all those loose ends (pointing out that the whole blood storyline feels very similar to the Super Soldier Serum).
The Hulk, Abomination, Hulk-Todd, and Titania are all deleted from that battle, and we then immediately pick up with the members of the Intelligencia being arrested. Emil is sent back to jail for transforming and breaking his parole, Charlie Cox returns as Daredevil - as Jen requested - and The Hulk shows up with an unexpected guest at the family barbeque.
The finale ends with She-Hulk back fighting the good fight in court, vowing to be a superhero as well as a lawyer.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law definitely jumped the shark with its finale, paying off all those lingering plot threads and the show's big mystery...by pretty much just forgetting about them. Fans hoping for The Leader to be revealed as the mastermind here are likely to be disappointed, and while this subverting of expectations was the point (because the finale really didn't need to end with a massive brawl like most MCU projects), it feels perhaps a tad too silly.
After all, in a Phase that's felt disconnected and inconsistent, taking a subplot that's been a huge talking point for eight weeks and throwing it out of the window might be beneficial to Jen's story in some respects, but to the wider MCU...we're not sure it was the best idea. Honestly, it feels like another Ralph Bohner situation.
