Well, it seems we're going to have to wait a while longer for official confirmation that a new Punisher project is in development!

Last night, Rosario Dawson appeared to tease Frank Castle's imminent return during a panel at Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo when she said she'd she heard "that The Punisher was happening again."

"So, I feel like it's my second chance, because that's the only one of the shows I wasn't in and I love Jon Bernthal," she added. "So, lets all make it happen collectively guys."

We assumed Dawson had been told about the revival by a source either involved with or close to the planned project, but The Mandalorian star has now taken to Twitter to clarify her comments, and she's claiming her info came from a fan during a signing.

Hmmm. Do we buy this, or did Dawson get a telling off from a higher-up at Marvel Studios and asked to walk back her comments? It's hard to be sure, but there are persistent rumors (though nothing concrete) that a new Punisher show is in the works.

Both Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio recently made the jump to The MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye, respectively, and Krysten Ritter is expected to follow-suit as Jessica Jones in either She-Hulk or Echo, so it does seem like quite a few of the Marvel Netflix actors are being given the opportunity to reprise their roles.

It is worth noting that Bernthal has previously stated that he'd only be interested in playing Castle again if he could be true to the gritty, violent nature of the character, so if a new Punisher series or movie is in development, there's a pretty good chance it'll be R-rated.

bernthal was so effortlessly effective in the short role he had in a recent tv show, almost got me tearing up despite maybe 6 minutes of screen-time at most. dude's such a [frick]ing great actor and always leaves an impression regardless of how small the part is. gotta see we own this city next for sure
hoping he gets great writers for whenever his next punisher gig is - one of my favorite cb castings even if i didn't love the show itself.

@GhostDog - man's booked & busy (deserved). you've seen the show i was mentioning, but i really can't stop thinking about how [frick]ing beautiful those last 2 shots were - especially with that radiohead track playing behind it. shit got me close to tears

@tmp3 - Bear was such an emotionally raw show. Last 2 shots were just beautiful and the flashback scene with him in the kitchen, Bernthal was so good.

I’ve tried time and again to cut. Minimal results and tried it all, even dandelion root when upping water intake 2 years back. I’m no workout expert but my boy is (played D2 football) and he recommended the root mixed with your water. Good luck.

@GhostDog - yep, all the stuff with mikey was so beautiful.
i hate cutting because i always wind up over-doing it with the cardio and wind up losing so much progress in strength training. i think i'm just addicted to runner's high when i get really into it lol, but i'm just coming off a bulk that i'm pretty happy with - just need to shed a little bit. reducing salt always helped me, but i'll try this root thing - heard about it a lot
(then there's always clen but i think i'm too scared to hand in my natty card lol)

i think there is confusion between the talent and executives on what was supposed to be revealed at comic con and whats going to be revealed at D23. cause with this shit from Dawson and then patton oswalt talking about eternals 2 on the today show it would make sense if they both thought what they spouted out was already revealed especially if they in their personal lives don't keep up with which cons happens when and whats the difference between them. or maybe what they were told specifically about reveal dates got changed at last second at comicon and feige held back punisher and eternals 2 info since he didn't have to do much to out perform WBs lackluster panels.

@supermanrex - Good points. It can be confusing to me, because I am many times surprised by how little some of the MCU actors know, in terms of how Marvel Studios works (like the snipers, for example), and wonder why they are saying this shit instead of just waiting until these things are "officially" announced.

I would just pick one answer (like, "Until it's officially announced, I won't know,") and stick with it in regards to any questions about the MCU's future. You know, just to "play it safe". I sure wouldn't want to cause issues for Kevin and Co.
