WHAT IF...? Mid-Season Sneak Peek Teases The Final Four Episodes And More Unexpected Variants

Marvel Studios has shared a mid-season sneak peek for What If...?, and this trailer showcases the surprises in store for the final four episodes of the first animated series set in the MCU.

An official teaser says we will "Witness the biggest heroes of the multiverse as they navigate alternate realities on a collision course toward an unforgettable finale," and it looks a lot like that episode is going to assemble many of these characters as a new team of Multiverse Avengers.

Doctor Strange Supreme and "Party Thor" appear to have found themselves in that reality overrun by Marvel Zombies, while it looks like that big cliffhanger with Ego and Peter Quill will be revisited. Iron Man using the Infinity Gauntlet in Avengers: Endgame also looks set to factor into proceedings in some way, and it definitely feels like we can look forward to some unexpected developments.

A second season (consisting of another 9 episodes) has already been announced, with Captain Carter confirmed to factor into that in some way. Despite this show taking us to alternate realities, it looks like there's also a bigger plan in place, and that could one day have live-action ramifications.

Don't be surprised if those implications are felt in some way in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness!

@lordSTALE - we're nutting nutting all the time now!

Remember when we only got 3 movies a year, or God forbid, 1-2 movies a year way back when?

Now we get MINIMUM 4 movies and 5 shows every. Single. Year. What a goddamn time to be alive.

[frick]ing Feige doesn't know how to lose, just NUTS left and right

This has been such a phenomenal series! I've enjoyed each one of them as stand-alone episodes that are "Elseworlds" in theme. They've been fun in that way to actually ask "What If?" But now to see they're actually NOT stand alone and they ARE connected to each other and to the greater MCU is SO frakkin' cool! Can't WAIT for these last four episodes!
