In the fourth episode of Ahsoka, "Fallen Jedi," the truth about Marrok is finally revealed but it isn't necessarily what any of us were expecting. The villain wields the lightsaber of a Sith Inquisitor and his face has been kept hidden from the start, leaving fans to expect a world-shattering unmasking.
We finally got to hear him speak last Tuesday, but his voice was heavily modulated, and stuntman Paul Darnell remains the only actor credited with playing the baddie. Despite that, many fans have been left convinced it's either Sam Witwer's Starkiller beneath the rusted helmet or, more likely, a corrupted Ezra Bridger.
Either option would have been an equal mix of compelling and confusing, but Ahsoka has now revealed (via SFFGazette.com) that Marrok...is just Marrok.
In an edge-of-your-seat lightsaber duel on Seatos, Ahsoka does battle with the mysterious villain and eventually manages to outsmart him. Running her lightsaber through Marrok's midsection, the former Jedi quite clearly kills him and it's then we see a burst of green dust-like energy erupt from his wound with what - sort of - sounds like a scream.

Confirms [SPOILER] Is Force-Sensitive With A Familiar Line
As of now, we can't confirm what it means, but we'd bet on Morgan Elsbeth and her Nightsister magic having something to do with it as that same green energy was seen in The Clone Wars when those witches resurrected the dead. There have been rumblings this series will feature an undead army of Stormtroopers, and it seems Marrok's rusted armour was indeed housing little more than a spirit.
Interestingly, this somewhat contradicts a StarWars.com character bio that reads, "Once an Inquisitor hunting Jedi for the Empire, the mysterious Marrok now works as a mercenary hired by Morgan Elsbeth to carry out dark deeds. Fully encased in battered battle armor, the warrior still carries a red double-bladed saber with a circular hilt."
It's possible Marrok was once one of the Emperor's many Inquisitors, raised from the dead by Elsbeth to serve her alongside fallen Jedi Baylan Skoll and his apprentice Shin Hati. She's the only person who seems remotely bothered by Marrok's death but is busy squaring off with Sabine Wren.
During their confrontation, it's all but confirmed that the Mandalorian has absolutely zero connection to the Force when she tries and fails to use it on her opponent. This was to be expected and, short of a huge twist, we don't think she'll end up becoming a Jedi.
Now we've reached the halfway point, Ahsoka is definitely starting to take shape and we can finally be free of that endless Marrok speculation to ponder what comes next after that big cliffhanger.
