OBI-WAN KENOBI: An Awesome First Look At The Tatooine Set Has Reportedly Been Revealed

A new look at the set of Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi has seemingly been revealed before shooting begins later this month, and it teases a sprawling set that brings Tatooine back to life. Check it out...

Just a few days after that official cast announcement, a video from the set of Obi-Wan Kenobi appears to have leaked online. As you might expect, we get a much closer look at the Tatooine surroundings the Jedi Master finds himself in after vowing to protect the young Luke Skywalker.

Shooting begins this month, and while we know that the massive "Stagecraft" screens will be used (just like on The Mandalorian), it's not surprising that there are physical sets here, too.

There aren't exactly any big reveals in this footage taken on the set of the Disney+ event series, but it does likely confirm suspicions that Kenobi won't be heading off-planet (it's a huge set, and one you have to believe will be used throughout the course of every single episode).

"The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat," reads the Obi-Wan Kenobi synopsis, "the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader."

The cast includes Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. We don't know when exactly Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on Disney+, but 2022 is likely.

Not surprising he isn't going to leave Tatooine. Have trouble come to him, good ol' Ben Kenobi can handle it.

Always desert planets. The galaxy far away is a backwater shithole.

Are they filming this in Tunisia. Went to the mos espa street set in Tunisia, it was ok, guy tried to sell me dead scorpions in a glass case and when I said "oh I like to see them alive (wild)" he proceeded to show me a bottle with a live scorpion in it.
The set itself is quite small but still surrounding area is incredible scenic wise.
Kinda bummed I didn't visit the mos epsa spaceport building site on Djerba when I was working on that island.

What worries me about this show is that it’s Kathleen Kennedy’s show, Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau have nothing to do with it... 🤷‍♂️

@Waddles - I hope so. Obi has always been one of my favorite characters.

Why don't they just make the sets real places to live and then rent them out when its time to make a movie... its so sad that they make them over and over again...

@JonC - They would have to spend crazy money to make those shoddy sets livable spaces, they're built quickly and made to look good, being practical isn't really a thing in most cases. There's also logistic problems in getting people out of their house so you can film in it for months at a time.

@KINGPEN266ADOS - Have a feeling there won't be no lightsaber action till the last ep. I think Kenobi will be a bit similar in attitude with Luke in TLJ.
