Just a few days after that official cast announcement, a video from the set of Obi-Wan Kenobi appears to have leaked online. As you might expect, we get a much closer look at the Tatooine surroundings the Jedi Master finds himself in after vowing to protect the young Luke Skywalker.
Shooting begins this month, and while we know that the massive "Stagecraft" screens will be used (just like on The Mandalorian), it's not surprising that there are physical sets here, too.
There aren't exactly any big reveals in this footage taken on the set of the Disney+ event series, but it does likely confirm suspicions that Kenobi won't be heading off-planet (it's a huge set, and one you have to believe will be used throughout the course of every single episode).
"The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat," reads the Obi-Wan Kenobi synopsis, "the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader."
The cast includes Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. We don't know when exactly Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on Disney+, but 2022 is likely.
