THE MANDALORIAN: Disney Confirms That UK Version Of Disney+ Will Release Episodes Weekly

Disney+ finally arrives in the UK next Tuesday, and while the first three episodes of The Mandalorian will be available relatively quickly, the rest are (annoyingly) going to be shared on a weekly basis...

There's been a long wait for Disney+ in the UK, but the popular streaming service finally arrives in the country on Tuesday, March 24th. It will boast pretty much everything the American version does (and a few things it doesn't), but Disney has now shed some light on plans for The Mandalorian.

The first two episodes will be available on the 24th, while the third then follows on the 27th. That's not too bad - and quite a bit quicker than the way it was rolled out in the States - but from there, the next five chapters will hit weekly.

Star Wars fans in the UK have already had to wait since last November to watch The Mandalorian, so this is definitely going to come as a blow. However, Disney is a business, and it simply makes sense to release episodes weekly rather than letting fans binge-watch it over the course of one weekend and then unsubscribe immediately afterwards!

The Clone Wars is being handled in a similar fashion, but it's not all bad news.

Two episodes are being released at launch, with a further two on the 27th. Then, two weeks will be shared each week so that UK fans catch up with the US by April 10th. From there, it will be one episode per week, and Disney actually deserves some credit for helping the Brits catch up to quickly!

It's not an ideal situation, but there are good reasons Disney+ has launched later in the UK than everywhere else (licensing issues, mostly), and things should be normal from here.

Are you guys planning to subscribe to Disney+ next week?

Disney are acting like a bunch of cable workers. It's already done just let the UK fans binge the whole show!

Look, I get WHY they want to do it this way, ‘cause people may get it for a trial or one month, binge then leave it, but honestly? [frick]ing ridiculous. People WILL pirate it if it’s been out for half a year and is in HD. It would be different if it was only a few weeks after the US got it, but when it’s been out in full for months and you expect people to watch it weekly? That ain’t it, sis

I was actually considering getting the '1-year for reduced price' thingy for the German launch, but with the timing of the MCU shows somewhat in question that started to look less attractive.

And now they're telling me I won't even be able to (re)watch their one existing flagship show at launch? Bad, bad decision. Guess I won't think about this again until the first MCU show is released.

First of all, despite their tone-deafness, Evangeline Lilly & Vanessa Hudgens are still two of my celebrity wives/baby mamas.😘😘 Basically what they're saying is, f*ck this virus, they don't wanna just sit around waiting for something or someone to rescue them, that may or may not come. That mentality is perfectly fine. It's usually an admirable character trait. The problem is, if you're a celebrity with a platform, the smart & kind thing to do, is show empathy for Corona Virus victims. Don't be arrogant & selfish. Help encourage people to take extra precaution, if they are leaving their homes, for whatever reason. The defiance & smugness, is where both of them really screwed up. The virus is potentially deadly. So you can't just approach life like "business is usual". It's literally not anymore.

It's a way for people to stay subribed for 10 weeks, it's also because of the lack of content, by the time we finish it we may have some Falcon and the winter soldier episodes.
