The Mandalorian returned to Disney+ last Friday, and this Friday really can't get here soon enough.
We'll have a review and spoiler recap for you then, but in the meantime, Lucasfilm has released a full gallery of concept art from the episode's end credits. "Chapter 9" - "The Marshal" - was a stellar opening episode for the hit series, though that's hardly surprising with Jon Favreau behind the camera.
It felt a lot like the filmmaker was trying to make up for past mistakes with Cowboys & Aliens, but there was plenty about this premiere which set the stage for what's to come in season two. Unfortunately, we don't really have a good idea of where things go from here, but with Boba Fett looming and the hunt for the Jedi continuing, there are bound to be more surprises in store.
There are ten pieces of concept art here from The Mandalorian (another can be viewed by clicking here), and to check them out, all you guys need to do is hit on the "Next" button down below!
Some fans have criticised the decision to have Din Djarin and The Child return to Tatooine so soon (especially when there are plenty of new planets to explore), but given the way the episode ended, this was a must. It's also fun to explore a different side of the planet away from the Skywalker family.
As many of you have already noticed, Cobb Vanth destroying that speeder full of mining guild members was a reference to 2008's Iron Man when Tony Stark destroyed a tank in a similar fashion. Interestingly, the Cobb in the second piece of artwork looks exactly like the classic Boba Fett.
This adorable meeting between the Child and one of Tatooine's creatures definitely should have made it into the finished episode, but him hiding in that pot was every bit of cute. In the second piece, we see Din Djarin and Cobb Vanth getting to know each other as the Sand People watch on.
Given how murderous the Sand People have always been portrayed as being, it's been a pleasant surprise to learn that they're maybe not as bad as they seem in The Mandalorian. They certainly appear to be able to relate to Din Djarin, and are likely to be fleshed out in the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series.
Boba Fett's big return was translated from concept art to screen perfectly, but fans still have a lot of big questions about why the bounty hunter is tracking Din Djarin and how he'll factor into season two. There are clearly big plans in place for the fan-favourite villain, so we'll just have to wait and see.
