THE MANDALORIAN: Sam Witwer Debunks Cameo Rumor; GOD OF WAR Art Director Brings Maul Back To Live-Action

Last Friday's episode of The Mandalorian took us to Mos Pelgo on Tatooine, and IGN recently ran an Easter Egg post claiming that The Clone Wars star Sam Witwer made a cameo appearance in the premiere. Well, Witwer has now reached out to the actor who actually played that background character, confirming that he wasn't part of the episode.

The actor has talked about wanting to be part of The Mandalorian, so it's definitely possible he could appear in a future episode.

Whether he'll get the opportunity to return as the voice of Maul is another matter; if that does happen, it will likely be in some sort of Solo sequel or spinoff given the way that movie ended, as fans of Star Wars Rebels will be all too aware that his story reached an end in that animated series.

Talking of that villain, God of War Art Director Raf Grassetti has shared his take on a Maul wielding both the Darksaber and his iconic lightsaber. It's a phenomenal piece of work, and hopefully an indication of what Maul will look like if and when he finally returns to the big or small screen in live-action.

I doubt we'll see Maul in The Mandalorian, but I wouldn't mind seeing Witwer do a cameo. And to be honest we don't need Maul in The Mandalorian, since Filoni (and Favreau) have another character that was only there to look cool in the movies to play with now too

Maul is dead at least 10 years before the Mandalorian so he can't be in it lol
