THE MANDALORIAN Spoilers: Grogu Gets A Major Status Quo Shift As Fan-Favorite Character Returns

In yesterday's episode of The Mandalorian, Grogu underwent a significant status quo change following the return of a fan-favourite season 1 character. However, they've also received quite a shake-up...

At the beginning of this season of The Mandalorian, Din Djarin was tasked with figuring out a way to return to Mandalore so he could regain his status as a, well, Mandalorian.

To do so, he needed to visit the bowels of a planet he'd been led to believe was poisonous and decided to try and restore IG-11, one of the only droids he could actually trust, to see if the atmosphere was safe. Unfortunately, his old ally was damaged beyond repair, with not even the talented Anzellans on Nevarro able to bring him back online.

Well, in the latest instalment - titled "The Spies" - Greef Karga surprises Din and Grogu with IG-12.

The former bounty hunter has been completely stripped down, with his memory removed and any risk of him losing control again no longer a concern. Instead, the droid can now be piloted by a creature around Grogu's size. Din is initially reluctant, but The Child wastes no time in taking control of his new mode of transportation...and using its "Yes" and "No" buttons!

For the rest of the episode, Grogu controls "IG-12" and now has a means of not only getting around without his floating crib but to get physical when necessary.

We don't get to see too much of that here, but he is able to step in when things get heated between Axe Woves and Paz Vizsla. It's a massive status quo shift for the character and one that should see him become far more hands-on in future battles.

Given how things end in this "The Spies" (we'll have more to share with you about that soon), something tells us this has come right in the nick of time.

Check out a glimpse of Grogu wearing his new suit below.

@bobevanz - Oh it was hilarious, but what I want to know is if the writers of Bluey get a commission for having their plot device from the episode "Dance Mode" blatantly stolen?

Or is it part of the deal in selling the broadcast rights of your series to the House Of Mouse that it gives them carte blanche to steal your work?

This episode was epic! Total redemption for an average season so far, and it pulled together some of the randomness of the previous episodes. The last five minutes were incredible. Can't wait for the finale next week. Should be awesome.

@Doomsday8888 - 100% agreed... however, this one episode alone, for me, made it worth watching the others. This was Peak SW, at least to me

Very good episode. The confrontation with Moff Gideon and his troops may have more to do with the different factions of Mandalorians coming together for good than anything else. Next episode should be another good, I hope.

It was just like the Bluey episode called Dance Mode where Bingo gets a Yes/No button

It was the Armorer's idea to bring both factions together. It's so obvious she made a deal with Moff Gideon.

@LilJimmy - i was thinking the same thing. Haven't figured out why yet. But looking at the "timing" of her flying off world, and how Moff's helmet looks very similar to hers, i think she's "the spy".. but, it may be so obvious that it's not her... idk... guess next week we'll find out

@MotherGooseUPus - They did show her a tad too long as she was leaving Mandolores airspace.

@Whoelsebutkevin - exactly... either they are making it obvious cuz it's her... like i think it is... or, it's misdirection

@LilJimmy - She was sus the whole episode & season (in retrospect). Hopefully, its a red herring. I want to point out that the title of the episode was "the Spies" and not "the spy." Its plural for some reason. Why would there be more than one? I wonder.
