Yesterday, a member of The Mandalorian season 3's costume department shared a now-deleted Instagram post revealing that work on the next batch of episodes has now wrapped. We're certainly hoping that person hasn't gotten in trouble, but they may have been saved by the fact that Greef Karga actor Carl Weathers has confirmed that the Disney+ series has finished shooting.

Weathers, who has also stepped behind the camera to helm episodes, revealed last August that shooting was set to begin the following month and that he was returning both as Karga and as a director.

This is a great update, but will The Mandalorian return to Disney+ later this year? We're used to seeing the series arrive in November/December, but as shooting concluded later than expected (minor delays were reportedly caused as a result of the pandemic), something might have changed.

Well, after doing some digging, we've noticed that The Mandalorian typically hits the streaming platform eleven to thirteen months after shooting starts. As a result, we're pretty sure season 3 will arrive by December at the latest, even if that means episodes continue streaming into next year.

2022 is shaping up to be an incredibly exciting year for Star Wars fans. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor are on the way, while we're also expecting to see more of The Bad Batch. Shooting should begin shortly on Ahsoka and the mysterious project believed to be set during the High Republic era.

I just thought about the fact that this dude is old. That’s not a comforting thought. All our heroes are getting old

I'm a bit bummed with how they handled Mandalorian. Disney couldn't stop themselves milking the popularity of Mandalorian by shoving him elsewhere not only that they ruined important plot points of Mandalorian by resolving them so quickly ON ANOTHER SHOW AS WELL.

Mandalorian ended with Mando saying goodbye to Grogu and when S3 starts they'll be together. WTF.
Luke Skywalker would NEVER say to Grogu either you stay here be a Jedi and say goodbye to everyone else forever or you go and say goodbye to being a Jedi. That didn't happen to Luke when he was young so why create this BS excuse just because you needed to reunite Grogu with Mandalorian.

They did some serious damage to S3 and beyond imo. None of what transpired was earned.

@Typhoon20 - I see it as Luke knowing that Grogu wanted and giving him an out.

I'm sure it feels good for the cast, but I bet the whole production crew feels crazy relieved when filming wraps on such a huge project like this especially.
