Gina Carano plays Cara Dune in The Mandalorian, and while some critics have questioned the former MMA fighter's acting abilities, fans have mostly responded positively to her badass former Rebel.
Unfortunately, the actress has found herself mired in controversy thanks to a series of Tweets which haven't sat well with everyone. In recent months, Carano has shared anti-mask messaging, indicated that the U.S. election was stolen, and Tweeted out what some perceive to be anti-trans comments.
Talking to YouTube channel Drunk 3PO, The Mandalorian star made it clear that she feels no need to apologize for the opinions she shares online.
"I’m going to stick around and if my presence bothers you, okay, but also a lot of people are not bothered by my Twitter presence or my social media presence," the actress says. "So I focus more on those people. I bring the fire out in people. I’m not sure why."
It sounds a lot like Carano enjoys pushing people's buttons online, but how long that can realistically last is another matter entirely. Disney fired Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn (albeit briefly) for controversial Tweets from a decade ago, so if the Cara Dune actress persists, she could find herself no longer part of the Star Wars Universe on Disney+.
At the same time, she's obviously entitled to her opinions, controversial or otherwise.
