Star Wars: The Phantom Menace wasn't exactly loved by fans, but pretty much everyone was on board with Liam Neeson's Qui-Gon Jinn. The actor has since reprised the role in The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, while his voice could also be heard in The Rise of Skywalker's final act.
The hope among fans is that Neeson will reprise the role in Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi series, appearing as a Force Ghost to teach his former Padawan how to "live" even after death.
However, during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Neeson seemed to shoot down the possibility of returning to this Galaxy Far, Far Away. "I heard Ewan McGregor was going to do a series," the actor said. "No, I don’t think so. No, I haven’t been approached." He then joked that Lucasfilm couldn't afford him to be in the show, while Kimmel pointed out the actor could be lying.
While it's feasible that Neeson is telling the truth, it would be a major missed opportunity not to do something with Qui-Gon in Obi-Wan Kenobi, especially given how important he was to the stories of both Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen has been confirmed to return).
