OBI-WAN KENOBI: Liam Neeson Casts Doubt On Rumored Return As Qui-Gon Jinn In The Disney+ Series

Liam Neeson played Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, and while rumours are swirling that he'll return as the Jedi Master in Obi-Wan Kenobi, the actor himself says otherwise. Check it out!

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace wasn't exactly loved by fans, but pretty much everyone was on board with Liam Neeson's Qui-Gon Jinn. The actor has since reprised the role in The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, while his voice could also be heard in The Rise of Skywalker's final act.

The hope among fans is that Neeson will reprise the role in Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi series, appearing as a Force Ghost to teach his former Padawan how to "live" even after death.

However, during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Neeson seemed to shoot down the possibility of returning to this Galaxy Far, Far Away. "I heard Ewan McGregor was going to do a series," the actor said. "No, I don’t think so. No, I haven’t been approached." He then joked that Lucasfilm couldn't afford him to be in the show, while Kimmel pointed out the actor could be lying.

While it's feasible that Neeson is telling the truth, it would be a major missed opportunity not to do something with Qui-Gon in Obi-Wan Kenobi, especially given how important he was to the stories of both Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen has been confirmed to return).

See if you think Neeson is telling the truth by watching the interview below:

If he is being serious, too bad, isnt really needed but would have been cool to see.

Originally he was going to appear at the end of revenge of the sith but he got in a motorcycle accident, thats whay they just talk about him.

Maybe have Obi Wan's attempt to make that connection to the force a subplot, then in the finale he finally makes it and Qui Gon appears to him.

That would be a shame. Although maybe he could just be talking about a physical appearance. From what I gather they only really need him in a voice role

The prequels were terrible, are they better than the Disney trilogy? Maybe, more I think about it,yes they probably are.

At least the prequels had a clear story and creativity.

@dracula - Exactly. The prequels are actually the only SW trilogy with a coherent story and not full of plot holes. I totally forgive the inconsistencies in the original trilogy but the lack of a thought out story in the sequels is just terrible planning.

Prequels get slated far too much. Obviously the stereotypes by Lucas are heinous but they have a coherent story n coherent motives. Phantom Menace easy my fav, then Clone Wars, then ROTS

I would like him to appear as his spirit self (like Obi-Wan did for young Luke), and threaten the bad guys by telling them that he has, "...a very particular set of skills...".
