There were rumblings for months that Rosario Dawson had joined the cast of The Mandalorian as Ahsoka Tano, but that was finally confirmed during Friday's episode (appropriately titled "The Jedi").
As expected, Lucasfilm has now released a character poster which puts the spotlight on this fan-favourite hero from The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, and it's fair to say this is wallpaper worthy. This live-action take on Ahsoka is perfect, and Dawson acknowledged the process of being transformed into the animated fan-favourite during a recent interview with Vanity Fair.
"What I love about the Togruta is that they have these facial markings, but they're all different on all of the different women that we've seen," the actress says. "In the cartoon it almost looks like a face paint, but what [Filoni] really wanted it to come off as very natural."
"They definitely wanted [the make up] to be very warm and natural. In the animation it's very different and bold, and the lighting is so different. But in the real world they wanted it to have a different kind of energy. It was fun to be able to see how that shifted when she had the lightsabers closer to her face, how you see it and feel it differently in the different lighting and the smoke."
The visuals in the episode - which was directed by Dave Filoni - were phenomenal, and the moments Dawson is referring to with the hero's lightsaber definitely stood out while watching "The Jedi."
