Luke Skywalker made a surprise return in the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, saving Din Djarin and his allies from certain death at the hands of a legion of Darktroopers, and taking Grogu under his wing in order to train him in the ways of the force.
Though some took issue with Luke's cameo, the majority of fans were very happy to see the legendary Jedi again, and actor Mark Hamill has now taken to Twitter to express his appreciation at being given the opportunity to reprise the role again following what was believed to be his final appearance as a force ghost in The Rise of Skywalker.
"Sometimes the greatest gifts are the most unexpected and something you never realized you wanted until it was given," Hamill said in his Tweet, while thanking series creator Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni.
The actor also shared a fan reaction video, adding: "#NoWords-Seeing fan's reactions to Luke's return is something I will cherish forever. Their anticipation seeing the X-Wing/Ep. 6 Robes/a lightsaber/a GREEN lightsaber/a gloved hand/an ungloved hand/a Force choke/R2-was OVERWHELMING & very moving to me."
How did you guys feel about Skywalker's return? There are rumors that the character could show up in future seasons of The Mandalorian, and possibly even feature in his own spin-off show, but that seems highly unlikely.
