Producer And Director Shawn Levy Comments On The Future Of STRANGER THINGS

Stranger Things went from a simple Netflix show, to a global phenomenon. And their fans can't wait to see where its future will be heading.

When a TV show or a movie gets really big in popularity, it could basically start to turn into a franchise. Which means the creators will milk out as many ideas as they can, from the original concept. Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy has something to say on the matter.
"The notion of a franchise didn't exist at Netflix before Stranger Things. And we've certainly seen our growth as we move into merchandising, as we move into partnerships, and promotional partnerships," Levy shared with ComicBook.com. "We don't speak of it as franchise. We definitely want to do several more seasons. Beyond that, certainly this has become one of the flagship brands of Netflix. And they would like to see us telling these stories in whatever ways, and for as many years as possible."
That's interesting that he said he wants to do several more seasons of Stranger Things. It was widely believed that the show would probably tap out at around season four. However, with the amount of hype that surrounds Stranger Things, we can only imagine how long they'll want to stretch it out.

Although, it appears we won't be seeing any different variations of Stranger Things. They seem to be more focused on simply making future seasons, rather than alternate stories.

An official release date for Stranger Things season three hasn't been revealed yet. However, most are saying it's likely we'll all have to wait until the beginning of 2019. Ouch. Still, it just goes to show that quality over quanity is definitely important.

@JK2point0 - Season one made me feel like I grew up in the '80s, in their world. Season two was okay.

LOVED both seasons. Best show on TV or Netflix, easily. Can't wait for season 3. My only hope is they dont milk it too much and it gets stale. I dont want to see this show end up like Entourage

I think they should have ended at s2. Before the magic dies out. This show would become instant classic. Still might though.
