VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE Has An Unexpected Connection To THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is currently playing in theaters, but we're betting you didn't spot this unexpected link to The Matrix Resurrections while you were watching it on the big screen...

We recently saw the first trailer for The Matrix Resurrections, but did you know there was a new look at the movie in Venom: Let There Be Carnage? Both films were shot in San Francisco at the same time, and when Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock climbs the city's Coit Tower, those helicopters you can see in the background were actually there not by design, but because they were being used on The Matrix 4.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage location manager Christopher Kusiak dropped that bombshell during a recent interview with Screen Rant

"Lots of stuff impacted filming. A lot of our driving shots went away because Matrix controlled all of downtown," he explained. "We ended up moving a stunt up onto the top of the parking garage because we couldn’t get to the areas we wanted because of The Matrix. But if we would’ve been there first, it probably would’ve gone the other way."

"The helicopters were actually on the Matrix movie," Kusiak noted. "The Matrix was filming at the same time so we were catching part of their activity on camera."

We can only dream about what a clash between Venom and Neo would look like, but this is a fun piece of trivia and one that shows the unexpected outcome of two movies shooting within the same vicinity at the same time. Will we see any signs of Venom: Let There Be Carnage in the next Matrix movie? For now, that obviously remains to be seen.

We don't have long to wait, though, because The Matrix Resurrections will arrive on December 22.

Spoilers

I can believe it. When it was fun it was fun but it amped the cheese factor way too uppishly. The voice was like Bane on meth. Hardy was, well, it’s a good Eddie Brock I think. Shriek and the cop were superfluous. Michelle something was way too nonchalant, a bit more Skyler White spiraling indignation… then again maybe that was on part 1, can’t remember. New relationship and all that.

NO complaints about Harrelson. Venom said he and Carnage weren’t simpatico but I think they were, to the point they were indistinguishable except when Carnage wanted to kill Shriek. What I would’ve done is set him against her, then she bites Carnage and becomes the symbiote shriek, and Venom makes her Scream which kills the badguys and Venom eats the human counterparts but still and leaves, and anonymously meth-heads his way to some tv in a trap house and bam, he and Eddie, who’s elsewhere, get multiversed, and venom goes for Spidey. Or Spidey crashes in. Cuz venom and Brock going for him makes no sense.

Literally just watched the movie in theater and wow it’s bad. The editing is so Mateus in a lot of parts. The adr and voice over very obvious. They could have told a way better story from the comics instead of wasting so much time in the movie that made it feel like filler. He ate Carnage… they killed Cassidy. Terrible.

Thats a fun bit of trivia. Don't think a lot of movies can say they have filming activities of another movie in the background. Doubt they would've gotten control over downtown though. Matrix is still the more popular franchise I think

I saw it over the weekend and I liked it more than the first. It was ridiculous and campy but there were scenes I enjoyed. I thought Carnage could have been more developed and some of the editing was bad. But the humor was better this time around and that end credits scene makes me curious about what’s to come.
