VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE BTS Video Shows Tom Hardy Bringing Venom To Life With Motion-Capture

With Andy Serkis at the helm, it's no great surprise that Venom: Let There Be Carnage will make use of motion-capture, and these newly revealed behind-the-scenes videos show Tom Hardy trying out his suit.

While we did see a handful of set photos and videos for Venom: Let There Be Carnage back when cameras were rolling, Sony Pictures has done a great job keeping the movie's plot under wraps.

We haven't seen any leaked promo art or merchandise, and while the title makes it clear that Eddie Brock and Cletus Kasady will go toe-to-toe, how that battle will play out obviously remains to be seen. While we wait for some official updates, newly surfaced behind-the-scenes videos (shared by MMA fighter Dan Vinni) show star Tom Hardy working on his fighting skills.

Motion-capture technology has been used to recreate his movements instantly on a nearby monitor. It's pretty incredible to see, though we shouldn't be surprised that technology like this is being utilised when an actor and filmmaker like Andy Serkis is calling the shots.

When we spoke to him last month, Serkis told us: "I’m super excited about it. Again, it’s not something I can particularly talk about right now because we’re saving it for when everybody can go and enjoy it in the cinema. I don’t want to blow it or talk about it too much before then, but I’ve had a ball working on that film. It’s been great. [It’s] another bunch of brilliant actors. I hope you won’t feel disappointed. It was a real pleasure working on it."

Hopefully it’s better than the first. That’s all I can ask for.

As a long term lover of Muay Thai, he’s got good technique in throwing those knees

Liked the Serkis Jungle Book movie so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt with this one.

I want this to be good mostly because Andy Serkis is behind the camera but I also already sort of hate this franchise because the first was terrible, it has no connection to spider-man, it’s closer Ultimate than 616 Venom (which is the way better version), and it’s pretty much already messed up the character portrayal. It’s going to have to do a lot to win back any favor.

@bobevanz - probably won't see it with this version of venom the way they bollocked up the origin in the first film.would be cool to see though

I hope all that was just for the sake of seeing his movements to understand how it all reacts...

Venom does not need to be fighting like he's MMA trained in anyway. He should be brutish and overwhelming in speed, size, and bullish and carefree with his attacks.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - I wouldn't last five minutes before Venom started doing the Chika Dance.
