First Look At Prince of Persia Villain -- Ben Kingsley

Sir Ben Kingsley as the villain in Disneys Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.



Jake Gyllenhaal plays Dastan, a young prince in sixth century Persia who joins forces with the exotic princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton). The two have to prevent a villainous nobleman which is played by Kingsley (above) from possessing the Sands of Time.

The sands of Time is a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the entire world.

Co-stars Alfred Molina and Toby Kebbell.

A Mike Newell-directed film, opens in cinemas on may the 28th 2010 based on the fantasy adventure game from Ubisoft.

gotta love how they pick someone who actually looks the part ethnically... except for the main character

and he is the prince of persia???
i think that is a slap in the face to the many excellent actors that could have filled the role

plus i did not realize it was a Disney/Brukheimer film, which means bring on the garbage instead of the epic. i think this is one movie that is going to dissapoint quite a lot of people

@realfirstavebger i agree but playing the games they are M rated and have a lot of action, if you saw the interview with the directer a few months ago they changed the story so much. The story is not the best but they made it so much worse, hes not even a real prince in this, hes adopted.

Dunno about this movie being done by Disney. I mean the game you hackin' people and stabbing them, are they going to Chronicals of Narnia this movie with shiny blades even after the penetrate like 20 people/creatures and still retain its perfection?

Its to bad I hate this guy, he isn't really a good actor. Also why do people keep saying Jake is to white. They must not have played the games because Jake is much darker then the Prince from the first game, and I think he looks just like the Prince in the second game.

This film is looking good, with the exception of Jake's hair, it's a good 3rd of an inch too short! Get over it people! Jake is looking very good in the role! Stop being so narrow minded and hypocritical! What language was spoken in the games? Sure as hell wasn't Persian! And sure as hell wasn't a Persian voicing him but you still love it! Sometimes you just have to stop being a supermike and enjoy whats in front of you!

I'm a fan of Sir Ben Kingsley and Gyllenhaal is a decent actor, but this is the type of casting that shows that Hollywood hasn't changed enough. Slumdog Millionaire and plenty of foreign films brought to the states have proven that Americans don't always need to see familiar White faces in lead roles and yet studios are still pretty gutless overall. And as I'm writing this I'm seeing an ad for Dragonball Evolution...nuff said.

its obviously not going to be exactly like the games but as long as its a decent interpretation, ill be happy! i just hope Disney dont turn this into what happenned with Pirates of the Caribbean - with the second and third film just becoming longer and more boring!
