After a rocky week for Rocksteady's Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, the developer appears to be soldiering on with the release of a new "gameplay launch" trailer.

Last week, embargos from a special event the developer had with several video game outlets lifted and the write-ups for first impressions didn't exactly put the game in the best light.

Although the game's launch version is likely to disappoint gamers, the game has a foundation that might someday be developed into something amazing, according to the most optimistic first impressions write up.

Since Rocksteady has already stated that more members will be added to the Task Force X roster in the future, they should see that viewpoint as a victory. The developer has confirmed that the only things that will be locked behind a paywall are cosmetics, as future playable character additions will be available for free.

Now that a fresh gameplay launch trailer has surfaced, fans who were previously dubious about the game are starting to warm up to it as they grow enthusiastic about the title's potential.

According to Rocksteady's previous statements regarding the game's plot, the Suicide Squad will increase their power set to take on the Justice League by raiding the League's own Hall of Justice armory and taking a few essential items that will provide vital power-ups, like some of Batman's gadgets, Dr. Sivana's Speed Force Gauntlet, and more.

Additionally, the TaskForce X team will have backup in the form of the "Support Squad", which consists of Poison Ivy, Penguin, Gizmo, Hack and  Toyman.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on February 2, 2024. Do you plan on purchasing the title on day one or will you wait to see how the servers hold up and what the consensus is from nonmedia outlets who received free, early copies? Let us know in the comment section below.

Unbelievable that the Arkham games made billions of dollars yet somehow WB upper management let both Rocksteady and WB Games Montreal throw it all away and produce trash that will flop and lose a ton of money. A blunder of unthinkable proportions. We could've had 3-4 more Arkham games right now, instead, they decided to waste 9 years and release this. Some people seriously need to lose their jobs over this - maybe that's why Sefton Hill left??

@Nightwing1015 - man that’s WB in a nutshell, just doubling down on bad ideas. For every one step forward it’s like 4 steps back.

Rocksteady 2016: “We should totally make a live service, multiplayer squad shooter with microtransactions. No one’s done that yet.”

Rocksteady 2019: “Shit, SquareEnix just unveiled their Avengers game which totally ripped off our idea.”

Rocksteady 2020: “Ummm… guys? The Avengers game is getting pretty bad reviews, and nobody likes the live servicey microtransaction stuff. Did we make a mistake?”

Rocksteady 2022: “They just pulled the Avengers game from retailers. You can’t even buy it anymore. Quick! Take out all the live service microtransaction stuff!”

Rocksteady 2023: “Okay… we can’t remove any of that stuff without breaking the game. Just delay the game until next year. Maybe we’ll be able to fix it before then.”

Rocksteady 2024: “Nope. This turd is unpolishable.”

@santoanderson - Some ancient cultures would literally polish turds into perfectly round spheres, there's a Mythbusters episode about it I think. This game looks less polished than a turd O_o

I wonder if this game will be the next "Anthem" where it flops extremely hard because of the anti-paywall movement along with the typical "I will wait for a price drop crowd" combined with the "It has too many bugs and glitches" community.

@SonOfAGif - It's either going to be Anthem or Destiny. There's no in-between.

@MarkJulian - Honestly I only play single player games these days. I've been burned by games like Aliens Fireteam Elite, Anthem, and Avengers. I find more entertainment in Indie Developers and AAA single player games. These big multiplayer games are just money laundering schemes for big corporations.

@SonOfAGif - I played Destiny 2 since the Destiny 1 days but I think I might be done for good. Really into Souls and Souls-like games these days. Just finished Lies of P and currently playing Remnant 2.

@SonOfAGif - Anthem was supposed to be AMAZING. It was full of potential and flopped massively hard. I had preordered it and was instantly let down after about 2 hours of gameplay.

@MarkJulian - I completed Spider-Man 2 last week. It was excellent. I'm actually going to finally start God of War Ragnarok next followed by Assassin's Creed Mirage.

@WruceBayne - I was so hyped for Anthem. Cyberpunk is another game that was ruined by corporate interference with cost cutting measures and forced transactions.

@SonOfAGif - I never got into Cyberpunk but I heard that was a big let down too. That open world Matrix game was supposedly a big letdown too.

For a gameplay trailer, they sure didn't show much actual gameplay.

Just glad Conroy is in it. Would have loved to have played as Conroy Batman one more time as he develops and carries out strategies to take down rogue JL members like Tower of Babel.

Yeah, I'm trying real hard to like this but I just can't get excited for it. I absolutely LOVED every Arkham game. But this? This is not what we've been waiting so long for. Imagine if they had just given another JL hero the Arkham treatment, that's all they had to do! Superman, WW, GL, Flash, Aquaman...it would've done gangbusters. But no, we get this. Thanks, WB.

This wouldn't fix the gameplay issues, but wouldn't Suicide Squad vs The Justice League be a much better title? Then if you wound up actually killing any of them, it'd be like "holy shit! Didn't expect it to go that far!"

Now, it's gonna seem like a straight up lie if the justice league all wind up surviving, which they probably will. Also, & I've said this before, I have no interest in rooting for these characters killing heroes I actually like.

Even though the gameplay really puts me off (looks like a combination between Fortnite and Spider-Man), I'm still actually kinda excited to play this. Even if it's just for characters and worldbuilding. Heard it atleast gets that right

Definitely thought it would be Hella bad . But alpha was awesome so took the deluxe edition. I cannot wait ☺️.

I'm just glad they chosen to do something else than an arkham bis . That was my issue with Knight and currently with Spider-Man games . They're all similar with only new cutscenes and outfits nothing more nothing less . Having a shooter with looting mechanics isn't very fresh but I prefer this over an other mid action game . Don't get me wrong Spider-Man 2018 and Asylum was amazing and City even better but Miles Morales and 2 is just a copy paste from 2018 and Knight a copy paste + tank from City . It was very annoying.
