When traveling the galaxy in Eidos-Montréal's upcoming action-adventure RPG, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, you're going to be meeting quite a few familiar faces. Recent gameplay videos have already confirmed we'll be running into Grand Unifier Raker and Lady Hellbender, but certainly more fan-favorites await. One such character has been introduced in a new cinematic video from the game: Cosmo the space dog.

Cosmo is a former Soviet pooch who now serves as the Chief of Security for the space station Knowhere. Using a combination of psionic and telepathic abilities, Cosmo is able to communicate with humans, raccoons, trees, etc.

The latest cinematic clip drops us in the middle of a conversation between Cosmo and Peter Quill. We don't know exactly what led to the Guardians arriving at Knowhere, but it seems they all have a shared interest in getting to the bottom of a galactic mystery with Star-Lord. Unfortunately, the clip ends before we get to see any juicy stuff, but Cosmo will ultimately serve as an invaluable ally to the Guardians throughout their journey.

We do, however, get another glimpse of one of the RPG mechanics in the game as Star-Lord has the chance to "sell out rocket" or "stick together" when he's confronted about a Nova Tracker being on their ship. It looks like the decision will be up to the player, and your choice will impact your relationship with individual characters (in this case, Rocket).

Cosmo is many things: a telepathic dog, a loving dad to wonderful puppies, the Chief of Security in Knowhere and… angry with the Guardians of the Galaxy! Things are about to get ruff.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is set to launch on October 26, 2021 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and streaming via GeForce NOW. A Cloud version of the game will also be available for Nintendo Switch.

This is honestly one character that I truly wish was introduced in a prominent way. Would be so good in the MCU.

@Menks123 - right he really should’ve been a guardian of the Galaxy, not a guava of the garden

Everytime I see the game's cinematics, I feel that it has so much potentiel, but the character interactions feel so disjointed and weird.

@Fares - same. It feels kinda forced in the sense of "hey look how cool these characters are!" and thus it all just feels sorta artificial

Keep forgetting this is being released in three weeks. The puppies are a fun addition, but probably not enough to help remember
