Spider-Ham is entering the Battlerealm of Kabam's mobile fighting game Marvel Contest of Champions. In celebration of Peter Porker's arrival, an all-new motion comic has been released featuring John Mulaney reprising his role as the crime fighting pig.
The short features the old-school animated aesthetic as Mulaney turns on the bombastic and quirky charm. Enticed by the idea of becoming famous, Peter Parker is lured into the contest by Mojo with the hopes of becoming a superstar and sprucing up ratings.
Peter Porker here, I’m sure you’ve heard of me, big upcoming star. Boy, do I have an opportunity for you today! I’m looking for a valet and you look like you’d be a perfect fit; definitely qualified for it and not just the first person I came across. Play the new Event Quest, Framed By Fame, and get in my entourage now, or you’ll come crawling back to me when I’m a big celebrity!
Mulaney has also actually partnered with Kabam to host the in-game "John Mulaney's Champion Challenge." This event features a team of Super Heroes and Villains, hand-picked by Mulaney, for players to fight against. If you successfully win, you get a reward.
Additionally, any new players who download the game between December 7-31 will get a free 2-Star Spider-Ham. Lastly, Marvel Contest of Champions is also giving away a free digital version of Spider-Ham #1 in the game all month.
Mulaney brought Spider-Ham to life in Sony's hit blockbuster Spider-Ham: Into the Spider-Verse. Mulaney also reprised the role of Peter Porker in the animated short Spider-Ham: Caught in the Ham, a four-minute video that serves as a prequel to Into the Spider-Verse.
The actor previously toyed with the idea of a Spider-Ham standalone film, even joking about a potential plot, but nothing official has been announced. In the meantime, production on an Into the Spider-Verse sequel has reportedly begun.
