Daisy Ridley Confirms TOMB RAIDER "Conversations"; But Hasn't Been Offered The 'Lara Croft' Role Yet
At last night's Empire Awards, Stare Wars: The Force Awakens actress Daisy Ridley spoke about her reported involvement with the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot. Find out what she had to say after the jump...
It was recently reported that Warner Bros. and MGM were looking at 23-year-old Star Wars: The Force Awakens standout Daisy Ridley for their planned reboot of video game adaptation, Tomb Raider, and last night at the Empire Awards the actress seems to have confirmed that she is in the running, at least.
THR caught up with Ridley at the London-based event - where she picked up the best female newcomer award - and the actress confirmed that while "conversations" have taken place, she hasn't been officially offered the role of Lara Croft.
Still, it definitely sounds like she'd jump at the chance to play the younger version of the iconic adventurer. “I’m waiting for someone to say ‘I want you, let’s do it',” she said, adding that there wasn’t a script for the film yet.
Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug will helm the Tomb Raider reboot, and it was recently confirmed that his film would be based on the plot of Square Enix 2013 version which followed Croft on her first adventure.
There is no official release date yet.
