We knew it would happen, here is the official announcement. Not much, just a title, and the atmosphere.

The geniuses behind last year's hit game Transformers: War For Cybertron, High Moon Studios, have announced a sequel to said game.

It will be titled Fall of Cybertron. According to Game Informer, the game will continue the story of War For Cybertron, but is "a natural successor rather than a true sequel" since it "changes and improves upon so many of the fundamental ideas."

Not many details has been released. High Moon Studios wants to establish a "darker tone" for it. Look for more details in the November issue of Game Informer.

Destroyer14: This will probably bridge the gap between War for Cybertron and Prime. (The cartoon currently airing on the Hub.) It'll probably explain why Bumblebee can't talk, among other things.

So is the Prime tv show actually part of this continuity? I didn't know that.
Destroyer14
Destroyer14 - 10/6/2011, 11:59 AM
@Monrogue Yeah, a much earlier announcement was that War for Cybertron and Prime are the "central" and "definitive" continuity.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Destroyer! It's good to know. I've seen a few episodes of Prime and thought it was decent. Makes me want the game. I wanted it when it first came out, but couldn't afford it at the time. Might have to pick it up when it's cheap. It probably will become a greatest hit if I'm lucky.

DINOBOTS!!!! YESSIR!!!
And I'm not really sure they're going to bridge this to "Prime" exclusively, it was stated in development of the first game that except for the movies the game could be seen as a prequel for most of the transormers media in some way including Generation 1, the comics, etc.

Listen, son. The subject of your sentence is "geniuses." That is a plural noun. In the English language, we have a little thing called "subject verb agreement." This means that your verb, in this case the verb "to have," must agree with your subject.

Weren't you one of the fools arguing about grammar in a recent post?

I love how people really look deep into this. No one's perfect, the occasional slip-up will occur, 'nuff said.

OOOOMMMMMMGGGGG!! Been a while since I've come to the site and had a huge smile across my face as I read the page. I'm as big a fanboy as anyone but this series of games is the gawd dam cat's meow...AND NOW GRIMLOCK??

Wow...

Bay take notice...the video in War for Cybertron crushes all 10 hours of Transformers that you have forced down everyone's throats.

Been a while since I've camped out for a game release....but this one might force me to...

@Dedpool High Moon Studios said that before Hasbro cleared things up and stated that it was exclusively tied to the Prime continuity.

I thought the first one was going to be awesome but it was terrible. I rented it for 5 days and ended up taking it back early. Probably one of the most boring games I've ever played.

Well of course they don't look alike; the forms you see in War for Cybertron were all models they copied from various vehicles/technology/devices on Cybertron. They wouldn't take on their Transformers Prime looks until they'd arrived to Earth and copied our tech/vehicles/devices.

I wanna see Bumblebee's transition from the more Cybertronian-but-kinda-G1 seen on WFC, to how he lost his voice and traded in the 'bug for the Camaro :)

I've always been a big Bumblebee fan. So much that I nerd out a little everytime I pass by the yellow beetle parked a block away from my parent's house... heh.

What I want to know is why Soundwave doesn't speak in the cartoon.

Nephillim That can be hardly explained, but well both are officially in the same canon and what to say! I initially questioned the same thing as well, but probably it's the basic concern; War for Cybertron's designs probably can be said as too 'heavy' (highly detailed, etc.) for an animated series, and vice versa. Who knows if this one also will explain those changes too (though may be unlikely).

And as for this one, I just can say I'm damn glad. :)

The previous "Transformers: War for Cybertron" looks amazing, loved the trailer with the original voice actor. But there´s so many games on the line waiting, gosh, impossible to play them all!

I only have 40 minutes before going to sleep, wife sleeps first, so i have to run to be able to play anything. :P
