Wonder Woman made $4.6 million this weekend, which puts its overall domestic box office total at a whopping $389 million. That means that it has offically surpassed the domestic total of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 ($387.3 million), making it the new domestic champion of the summer box office. Experts say that the DC Comics origin story will easily reach $400 million, and could even reach $410 million and beyond. Wonder Woman is currently the second highest grossing film of 2017 after Disney's Beauty and the Beast ($504.1 million).

Overseas, the film has reached $390.4 million, putting its worldwide box office cume at a massive $779.5 million, and the film will easily reach the $800 million milestone soon. As a reminder, Wonder Woman's projected global finish of $800m+ is not that far away from the worldwide total that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($873 million).

This could mean good news for Joss Whedon's Justice League this November. What do you think of Wonder Woman's box office performance? Sound off below!

Very impressive numbers for Wonder Woman.

@SlowKnife - Not even close.... with Beatuy & the Beast a monster (pun mostly not intended) and a Star Wars movie coming out? it's #3 at best....but! it's a fantastic movie and doing so well, this is absolutely a feel good story for comic book movie fans.
