In a recent interview, Robert Greenblatt - chairman of NBC Entertainment - discusses the reasons why the pilot for the planned Wonder Woman TV reboot starring Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman. He praised the pilot for what it was, but claimed that it wouldn't fit with their current schedule. He also shares his thoughts on the early pictures released with Palicki in the suit.

On how the pilot wouldn't fit with their current schedule, and what he thought of the pilot overall...
“I hate to disappoint anybody. I know there are legions of fans of the original show. I don’t know if it’s cursed or what. I just have this one experience. They made a really fine pilot and Adrianne Palicki did a fantastic job. You look at what you have, what you need, and it just didn’t seem to fit in with what we were doing.
“We did what was best for the schedule. It does give one pause. You’re almost damned if you and damned if you don’t. It’s tricky.”

On what he thought of the early release of pictures of the costume...
“I was surprised there was such an uproar. But that didn’t have anything to do with whether the show got picked up. I love that it got so much attention. All that engagement from people whether it was positive or negative was good. And she did ultimately have these little hot pants…”

Originally slated to hit TV stands this fall, it's unknown when Wonder Woman will return to TV.

@Leeholland Unless it pops up online or happens to be picked up in the future (maybe another network?), I doubt it.

The reason Wonder Woman didn't get picked up was not NBC, or the costume department, or Adrianne Palicki's fault. It had to do with David E Kelley being the showrunner and main writer. If this show had JJ Abrams or Joss Whedon running it, it would have been picked up for at least 13 episodes. All David E Kelley knows how to do is make shows based on sexy business women.

And for ever seeing it, I guarantee you that if it doesn't leak, it will end up a special feature on the next Wonder Woman animated movie.

STILL CLUELESS!!! This why I hate NBC, their politics, and their ignorance.

How absolutely dismissive and insulting. As a (sometimes) rabid Wonder Woman fan, it was never about "HOT PANTS." It was about bad One-Tree-Hill-Casting; a horrible writer, by any author's standpoint; an inferior script and conceptualization; and a horrible producer.

Now let's talk about Mr. David E. Kelley, as producer, and the costume. I don't have a problem, nor, did any real fans, with pants vs. "hot pants." (HOW INCREDIBLY DUMB AND SEXIST, which should highlight my next remark), it was that they put a low-talent brawd in the cheapest vinyl outfit they could find, that even a Belgian sex worker would find embarrassing, and then had the audacity to try to sell it as Wonder Woman.

No respect for the material, which by the way has lasted 70 years and way beyond the career or lifespan of any NBC crony, is why this misbegotten pilot failed

They are disgraceful, shameless PIGS, NBC.

@MaximusRodd, this is why they shouldn't deal with network television. They should have learned from "The Flash" TV series.

PS:

Amanda Tosch for Wonder Woman.

Well Warner Bros./ DC should really think about making a feature instead of a tv show. It's not that difficult the character has 70 years worth of material to draw from. Write a superb script that deals with her origin and bring in her rogues gallery and bam! you've got a franchise.

Alexandra Daddario???

Man what is it with fanboys and barely past teenage girls? She's no better than Adrianne Palicki..

No Curves
No Thighs
No Calves
No Butt
No Hips
No Height (she's barely 5'8)
No maturity what so ever in the face!

You don't want a girlie teen look-a-like to play a Wonder Woman, you need someone looking like this..!

A solid, athletic and beautiful WOMAN, not a teen, a WOMAN!!!

Triptheorist - 5/15/2011, 10:14 PM
Yeah, I could definitely get behind Alexandra Daddario... For Wonder Woman.

Although my first choice has always been Bridget Regan.

My vote goes for erin cummings and i agree with Ceejay, those actress doesn't look like wonder woman.

My Point of vieww: I was too esceptic with adrianne palicki, but after a few time,my opinion changed and i liked the wonder woman she was. I hope she could get another comicbook char, i think she can do it.

Im glad it was cancelled so soon because if this show went on the air for a season that would have been a year longer that they take to have the balls to bring Wonder Woman to the silver screen.. Plus the show would have bombed with its rediculous storyline which would have delayed things even more..

Let time heel this mess for a bit starting right now, and then get a Movie done the right way with her real origin story..
Ceejay
Ceejay - 5/15/2011, 11:50 PM
Exactly, WW needs a movie not another cheesy, camp TV show. They should start searching for a new actress who fits the part of a tall, Amazonian princess with an outstanding, athletic physique and presence the way the Producers of THOR searched for a fresh face. Surround that actress with quality known actors just as they did in THOR and deliver a spectacle of a movie with this hot Woman kicking butt!

NO TEEN FACED OR WIMPY LOOKING WOMEN ALLOWED!
