WONDER WOMAN 1984: Chris Pine Reveals How He Learned That Steve Trevor Would Return

We were shocked to learn that Chris Pine would be reprising the role of Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman 1984, but the actor has now revealed why he wasn't at all surprised when he was asked to return...

Chris Pine was a fantastic Steve Trevor and while Wonder Woman ended with his death, fans were quick to start speculating about the actor returning in the present day as a descendant of the original (something there's precedent for in the comic books).

With Wonder Woman 1984 set in, well, 1984, most of us assumed that wouldn't happen but when a still was released showing Pine back as the original Steve and decked out in clothing from the 80s, it's fair to say that we were all pretty confused. An explanation for the character's resurrection still hasn't been revealed, but Pine has known from the start that he would return.

"Patty [Jenkins] had told me this idea somewhere in the middle of the first one," he revealed after saying he wasn't at all surprised by the news. "And when Patty gets an idea, it's a pretty powerful thing, because you can see the kernel land in the dirt and then all of a sudden it just starts growing and it becomes a tree... She can make you do anything."

Wonder Woman 1984 was scheduled to come out next November before being pushed back to June 2020 so it's probably going to be a while before we see anything else from this one (Comic-Con in July seems like the safest bet for a trailer debut right now).

As Pine has gotten older, he now always has this... judgemental look on this face? I don't know how to describe it. He just looks like one of those guys whose right about everything if you try to argue with him. In a good and bad way.

Still hot tho.

Thought he was great in the first one. Hope is does not cheapen his sacrifice how they bring him back. Maybe he was in the soul stone?

@Asturgis - And share the source in case some want to watch the whole thing. It was a good and short interview where he talked about Trek a lot.

I would have thought the giveaway would have been the multi-picture deal he signed at the beginning. It "was" announced he signed one.

They did the same thing in the WW TV series. The first season was in WWI then they used the same actor as the grandson when they jumped to the present.

Maybe there was a Die Glocka on board the plane that Trevor was on.

Whaaa- It was always Patty's intention to have the guy who carried the first movie to come back for the next one? That is sooo shocking.
