After
being named GQ's Woman of the Year for 2017, actress Gal Gadot can now add highest-grossing actress of 2017 to her resume.
According to Forbes' list of 2017's top-grossing actors and actresses, Gadot was the leading lady, having raked in $1.4 billion in movie tickets worldwide for portraying the character of Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, in both her standalone film
Wonder Woman and her DC team-up movie
Justice League.
The Patty Jenkins-directed
Wonder Woman was the second highest-grossing movie of the year until
Star Wars: The Last Jedi opened this month, bumping it to the third biggest-movie of 2017. It remained the best-received and highest-grossing movie of the current DCEU, however, and is the highest-grossing live-action movie ever directed by a woman. Additionally, its $822 million worldwide
made it the highest grossing superhero origin movie of all time.
Justice League didn't fare quite as well at the box office, but did add millions more to Gadot's total.
Perhaps more impressive, Gadot ranks third among both actors and actresses for 2017, out-earned only by Vin Diesel ($1.6 billion in global ticketing receipts) and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson ($1.2 billion).
