Bryan Singer Unsure If Halle Barry Is Returning For X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

With X-Men: Days Of Future past gearing up for production soon, you would think that all the cast members would be set. However, director Bryan Singer keeps adding characters from the franchise. With a number of cast members from the first trilogy already in, one glaring absentee is Halle Berry. Fans have been wondering whether or not if Berry will come back as Storm, and so has Singer. "I can't say. I don't know yet. And it's not necessarily a deal making aspect at all. I want to make sure it'll make sense," he explained to MTV. Singer continued on by saying that he loves working with Berry.

In the Days Of Future Past comic book the story carters heavily around Kitty Pride (Ellen Page), but Singer isn't revealing yet just who the main character or characters of the movie will be yet. "I don't want to say who the protagonists are yet, or talk about that yet, but I will say that every character has a very important function in the story," said Singer. "The story is designed and catered to the combined cast. It's not just throwing in people to occupy the screen, occupy the billboards." He also went on to say that in their version of the story, the plot is very much geared around the mass cast. Citing relationships and all their foibles and their achievements as elements of the story. For the latest on X-Men: Days Of Future Past, make sure to check back here at CBM.

She took over the Xavier school at the end of X3, so it wouldn't make any sense to leave her out if they are continuing the old universe.

Halle berry was the weak link from the first 2, everyone else was pretty much spot on.

Singer is cleary playing the mistery card.
Of course he knows if the character is back or not.

The work on the script started back on Jan of 2012, and Singer came on board on November.

Im sure Fox wants Halle back. I bet Singer announces her on March, probably as the last announcement from the original trilogy

@marvel72 I thought First Class was pretty good, I know not a faithful 'First Class', but overall not bad. I'm actually looking forward to the First lass 'lineup' merging with the Original, especially Fassbender returning (for me he stole the show)...however i was never too keen on Halle Berry, i thought her performance was a weak portrayal of 'Storm'. Personally i would re-cast.....Danai Gurira from 'Walking Dead', would be my choice.

i say Zoe saldana should take over weathering duties, she was indeed the weakest and poorest performance across 3 movies.

Bring back Kelsey Grammar, by far the best thing about X3.

He'll end up shelling out the duckets. He'll have to. And when he does she'll do it. Personally I'd like to see them recast Storm because they could do much better, but they won't. I'd like to see the whole cast replaced.

I heard when Singer was possibly going to do the 3rd movie she wanted a bigger role and more money and they said NO! I am sure Ratner gave her what she wanted because he knew his movie would bomb and figured she is a big actress and let her have it all.

@AcidicHeart

They had a bunch of problems during the first two X films, mostly X2.

There was a ton of articles back then about it.

That's why she stuck around for Last Stand. She got the bigger part/more screen time she wanted, (and look how that turned out).

@AcidicHeart During a particularly bad day or two in the shooting of X@, when Singer was allegedly going off on the cast/crew (and the cast considered a revolt (again, allegedly) Berry famously told Singer to "Kiss my black ass".

No Big loss. Recast and hire someone that won't complain about their amount of screen time. Its an ensemble cast Halle, get over it.

I have to agree with a lot of the anti-Singer comments I've never been a fan of what he's done with the franchise.

Buddha29@ Neither one of them can act and both of them are WAY too skinny to play Storm.

keep her away.

i hated her falling in and out of that horrid accent in x1.

there are so many better actresses to portray storm.

Zoe Saldana, Marsha Thomason, Freema Agyeman.

@ topcat. Danai Gurira is a crap actress... all she can do is grunt and look pissed off... doesnt in any way capture the distant nature of michonne and looks nothing like storm.

I agree about Angela Basset I to wanted her from the beginning. This movie is important for Fox Studios to gain credibility which is needed to fortify their position in the Marvel universe. It makes sense to have more than one studio cranking out these movies. Hopefully down the road they can gain some kind of cooperation that would only enhance both products.

Great time to be a CBM fan, and a fan the Marvel.
