DARK PHOENIX: A New Trailer May Be Coming Our Way In A Matter Of Days

Captain Marvel hits theaters next week and that means studios are rushing to get as many trailers out as possible in time for them to play in front of it. After all, promoting an upcoming release before the latest Marvel Studios movie is just common sense, and that would explain why a new look at Dark Phoenix is reportedly on the way.

According to Trailer-Track, a new trailer has just been rated and could be only as soon as this Wednesday.

Why then? Well, Jessica Chastain is scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that evening and it's worth noting that the first teaser was shown on a similar talk show last year. Fox Japan's Twitter account also revealed that a new look would arrive on Thursday in a Tweet that's since been deleted, so this week seems likely.

There's been a lot of speculation that the Disney/Fox merger means Dark Phoenix will never see the light of day, but given how much was spent on reshoots, that wouldn't be a smart business decision.

Regardless, it will certainly be interesting to see more of what Simon Kinberg has planned for the final X-Men movie set outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe so stay tuned for the latest.

This movie is just going to push MCU X-Men til 2024-2025
instead of 2022-2023

Oh Well

I hope it's good

@WakandaTech - it's being directed by first time director who already had one attempt at dark phoenix and blew it, what are the chances it's going to be good.

@sickboy76 - don’t forget he wrote X-men Apocalypse and the screenplay to 2015s Fantastic Four:(

@JoJo1982 - I know right, anyone would think he got the directors chair by merit and not because he was a producer😁

@sickboy76 @JoJo1982 - But he also wrote Days of Future Past, which IMO is 1 of the best comic book films ever made so i'm optimistic. I don't think the story for X-Men Last Stand or Apocalypse was bad, just poorly executed.

Biggest problem with X3 is it tried to squeeze too many stories into 1 film. Apocalypse's problem was it wasn't an X-men reboot as hinted by DOFP but a 1st class conclusion because it was the actors for magneto, mystique, & xavier's last film under their contract. So I think the big disappointments of Apocalypse came more from the fact that it was inferior to DOFP & for being only a setup for the X-Men rather than a full reboot.

But I agree its hard to believe that Kinberg will deliver a good film because he has had so many terrible films made under his supervision and this is his directorial debut.

@mastakilla39 - wrote the screenplay, story was written by Vaughan and Goldman before they left.

@mastakilla39 - Biggest problem is how they completely ruined the Dark Phoenix saga by ignoring the love story of Jean and Scott, ignoring Scott entirely, making it the Wolverine and the X-Men part 3 taking the cosmic entirely out of the story introducing Angel and totally wasting the character. I could go on. The script was the worst part of the movie. MHO, of course.

@sickboy76 - That's real talk. He honestly is most likely why XMEN has been awful for a while. He has had his fingers in all the bad ones.

@RolandD - that was the point I was attempting to make about dark phoenix, noone gives a shit about this Scott and Jean because they've built no relationship whatsoever apart from a little bit of flirting in apocalypse. Going to see them fully fledged relationship ten years later off screen doesn't give any emotional connection to Scott's choice. The sansa thing was aimed at fact that Sophie turner is as awful as Jean as she is as sansa in GOT and don't want her to survive.

@sickboy76 - Yeah, I think it was your comment about Jean and Scott later in the thread that helped prompt my rant. 😂🤣

@RolandD - just came across the parody traikwr where they replaced all footage with last stand, quite fitting that the doors sing playing is the end as most of us hope that's a self fulfilling prophecy.
