X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX Will See Original Colossus Actor Daniel Cudmore Return To The Franchise

Daniel Cudmore first portrayed Colossus in 2003's X2: X-Men United but the role has since been passed off to Andre Tricoteux/Stefan Kapičić in 2016's Deadpool. Is Cudmore playing a new character?

Actor Daniel Cudmore was spotted in Montreal earlier this year around the time that X-Men: Dark Phoenix was filming. This led many fans to speculate that Cudmore would be appearing in the film, leading to more scathing online comments that Fox was messing up their X-Men continuity by having two actors portraying Colossus at the same time.

However a new Tweet from Cudmore confirms that he is returning to the X-Men franchise for Dark Phoenix just maybe not as Colossus. Could he be portraying another square fade X-Men character...namely Gladiator, the ultra-powerful Superman-esque leader of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard?

A fan asked him to specify which character he's playing but naturally, Cudmore declined to specify. At the very least, we can likely take this as confirmation that he's in the film.

@Forthas - So Fox finally decides to take continuity seriously by giving the worst actor in the movies a part? Seriously though I hope he isn't playing Colossus, not after what we got in Deadpool anyway.

Well he can be a younger colossus. As Deadpool takes place in 2016 while dark phoenix is in the 90's so a 16 yr gap could explain why he is older? And this can officially tie it to Deadpool

@mastakilla39 - yeah and in those 16 years he developed a Russian accent

@mastakilla39 - So 10 years (real time) after he first played Colossus in mid 2000's (X men time) he will go back to the 90's (X men time) and play a younger Colossus than he originally played 10 years ago (real time)?

@continuezero - What are you talking about? The whole timeline got rebooted, none of the characters from X1 - DOFP are constant anymore. Singer showed with Apocalypse that they can meet any of the old characters earlier or later now. That's why blob and nightcrawler are met earlier.

@WakandaManAreU - Colussus had less than 10 lines in the previous films, how do you know if he ever had a russian accent? And if alexander ship (storm), chadwick boseman (black panther), and elizabeth olsen (scarlett witch) can fake their accents why can't he?

@mastakilla39 - he definitely did not have a Russian accent... and what you're saying is pretty ridiculous.
It's your opinion... and you're entitled to it... and it's cool... but... whoa...

@mastakilla39 - How can you NOT tell someone has an accent after 10 lines???

And I didnt say anything about him faking an accent

@CapnMurphy2021 - Not sure how it's riciculous? But your entitled to your opinion too. Storm lost her accent in X2 from X1 and Black Widow never had a Russian Accent like the comics and it seems like nobody cares as long as they look like the character (played by white people)

@WakandaManAreU - I'm just stating any actor can fake an accent. Like the 1's I listed above. Does anyone even pay attention to cameo's or their lines. Not too late or hard to change an accent?

@mastakilla39 -
You're missing the point completely.
The problem isnt actors faking accents. Its the inconsistency of the accent throughout different movies. And yes people care or we wouldnt be complaining about Storm til this very day. And lol @ you for using laughing gifs to compensate for being wrong.
