More From January Jones On X-Men:First Class

January Jones tell MTV that she and fellow X-Men:First Class star James McAvoy spend a lot of time staring at one another in the film.

Speaking with MTV recently, January Jones reveals that there was a great deal of staring going on between Emma and the Prof in X-Men:First Class.

"Well, I'm telepathic too. So James [McAvoy] and I just had a lot of staring at each other, trying to out-think each other. If someone has footage of that, the outtakes need to be released somewhere because it's retarded. Not in a bad way."

"Hopefully they'll show something where it's the physical aspect of what we're trying to do mentally, because it's just kind of us staring at each other for a really long time. He at least has this [places her index and middle finger against her temple in iconic Professor X pose], where I don't have anything. So maybe my powers are more honed. I don't need a thing."

It seems to me that every time I hear her speak about this film she talks it down.

Emma Frost's telepathic abilities more honed that Prof X? Hell no! Never in a million years would.......oh wait, it's FOX.

Hopefully that's just her opinion and not how FOX made it in the movie.

Although, Emma did school Prof X out in the woods once right after the "Deadly Genesis" incident.

I've been watching her on Mad Men for the past few years and she basically talks the same about every project she does, talks it down, doesn't know anything about the movie or cast ect. It's why she's got almost no lines anymore in Mad Men and is being written out.

I'd take anything she says about x-men with a grain of salt.

She actually said "retarded" in an interview...
bad for the public image...

oh snap... Well hell.

I was dead wrong about that. I was certain they would leave out her telepathic power.

I wonder if they will have Banshee flying. That's the other thing I projected would be zorched. Hopefully I'm wrong about that too.

It always ticks me off when they monkey with a character's powers in the movies. It's so pointless to do that

@ Xandera: I like it that she said that. PCness sucks.

@ Juggernaut

Yeah, PCness does suck, but FOX has got to be aware of all the negativity floating around about this movie, and then to have one of the stars basically say some of the scenes are retarded couldn't possibly be good...

On a side note, i googled her, and she looks nothing like Emma Frost, but as for the movie and this interview, she looks damn near like how I'd imagine her. I hope she has a good british accent in the movie.

I don't know if it's maybe the way they edit it, but she really doesn't sound so smart in these MTV interviews.

She also doesn't sound terribly interested in the X-men movie except for the cape in the other interview. Hopefully Matthew Vaughn got some solid British acting out of her in the movie.

@ MovieTheaterLad

Probably so, I guess it just seems the other way around when reading all the haters on this site ;p. But the whole "rushed" filming/editing is pretty public, which isn't necessarily bad in the public view, but being a film editor, I know it's bad. Oh well, I've been an X-Men fan since 3rd grade, I'm going either way.

I'm not going to get into XFC discussion with the haters I'm tired of it, especially those who say they'll still watch it.

Glad they kept the characters telepathy though, plus she is smoking hot.

Don't know if you're referring to me or not, but I'm not an XFC hater. Just commenting on what I know (or perceive) about the movie so far, which is good and bad things.

I'm thinking Fassbender as Magneto is going to be huge.

Didn't you know? MTL and all his pals made a rule agaisnt saying anything negative about movies that THEY like. The penalty is that you will be pre judged as being childish, whiney, ignorant, picky, pig headed, etc.

Consider yourself informed.

@ juggernaut. i know, i know, it's so pathetic. "Batman and Robin" could have came out today and those fools would be the ones like, "you are an ignorant childish and close minded oaf. This film is completely true to the source material and the stroyline is engrossing" it's hilarious! people like them are the reason why a major motion picture studio can kill Cyclops off screen and still make millions. They are the ones that love Transformers 2. i bet if "batman and Robin" came out today it would be a success, that's how much of a mindless spender the general public is today.
