WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF MARVEL GAVE THE TV RIGHTS OF X-MEN TO FOX

As of today, we have read about a TV series in development; Yet, we know that Marvel owns the TV rights for X-Men. What would this mean, we ask. Could it be amazing? Could it mean that Marvel looses grasp of X-Men comics? Would we see many different kinds of series? Here is my Theory

WHAT IF FOX GOT THE TV RIGHTS TO MARVEL'S X-MEN

NOTE: Before you read this article I want to clarify, I am a neutral on this and I am not against Marvel, nor Fox.

So as of today, we heard about a tv show that is in development by FOX. That tv show is X-Men. Finally having heard nothing about this tv show, we learn that it was not a rumor. So as I said in the intro, I am not against Fox or Marvel, so Marvel Fans or Fox Fans please don't attack.
We ask, where the tv rights lie, well the are with Marvel. Well, then how can Fox be making a TV show? See, Fox is negoiting to gain the TV rights for X-Men from Marvel. Although, Fox is far from gaining the rights, what if they get the rights and make a tv show around 2016-17 (which was said in the article). What would we see? Would it dominate the comic tv shows out there currently? Would it fail? Would Marvel loose the only grasp (besides the comics) they had with The X-Men? or, Will Fox mess it up? Well, I am going to give my theory to these set of questions.

Question 1 : What would we see?
I ask this in terms of watching the tv show, what would be based on. I think it would be based on the X-Factor Invesitgations. That would be the obivious choice, seeing that few months back, we heard that a tv show was in development and that it would be based on The X-Factor Investigations. See, I may be wrong but thats what was said a few months back. Next to this, Visual Effects, would it be good ones or terrible ones. See, this is up for opinion, there are many characters that could be used but its all about the budget: I WOULD RATHER SEE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT THAN A FEW ACTION SCENES.

Question 2: Whould it dominate teh comic tv shows out there, currently
In my opinion, If the tv show is done right, then i see why I it would not dominate. Having said that,
what if the Comic Book Era is done by the time this show comes on. I mean, we are getting a handful of tv shows, this year of 2015. In terms of dominate, I strictly mean ratings wise. I think many more people would watch this show more then other comic tv shows because it has had seven succesful films, meaning box office, of backing behind it.

Question 3: Would It fail and would Fox mess it up?
Those are two questiosn that are quite similar. When i mean having it fail, I mean having done poorly, bad viusal effects, little character development, bad script. Although, Fox has delivered fantasic films, there are some that havent been as great. (I AM NOT THROWING SHADE AT FOX)

Question 4: Would Marvel loose the only grasp they had to the X-Men?
Again, another opinationed question, but an important one. I say Yes and No, just because it would make it very difficult for Marvel to gain those rights back, if it was given to Fox. Plus, think about the animated tv shows, we wouldnt see the X-Men anymore (I am assuming on that one). Then i say, yes, because they will have there comics and devlop those characters thier own way. But, I think it would be hard because they would not have a chance to bring those characters to life on animated shows at the very least.

Thank you for reading this article, and again I am not on any side: Marvel or Fox, i just gave my opinion. Please comment what you think about the show or any of the questions i listed.

Fox owns Fantastic 4 right? Would they trade the right to use some galactic figures for the right to make X-men TV?

Marvel should use The X-Men TV rights as a bargaining chip for character rights owned by Fox.

Silver Surfer & Galactus & then you can make an X-Men TV show.

Marvel Studios doesn't own the TV rights to X-Men (with the exception of animation), which means they can't just throw someone like Wolverine in Agents Of SHIELD. The way it works is that Fox can make a live action X-Men TV series but Marvel Studios just has to sign off on it. At least THR says Marvel has to sign off on it according to their sources. There is a decent chance that their sources are wrong as we've known Fox has had the TV for a while and this is the first we've ever heard about Marvel having to sign off on on it.

And no, Marvel won't be able to bargain with the rights (despite some people's bias) as Fox is highly protective of the rights of their Marvel characters. If Marvel tries to do something like that, Fox would just decide not to do that and it would hurt ONLY us as we would have one less comic book TV show to look forward to. There is no financial reason Fox would NEED to do a series, as not only are their X-Men films profitable but the company Fox as a whole made more money in 2014 than any other film company (including Disney).

I hate to be the so-called "devil's advocate" but I'm just being realistic. We all want Marvel to have characters like Silver Surfer, Dr. Doom and Galactus (to name a few) but the chances of that happening are slim.

@dopemaster I think they should give the TV rights to Fox for The Fantastic Four.

@darkknight2149 Marvel owns the TV rights to spider-man, x-men, and fantastic four. TV rights and Live-Action rights are different. Fox owns the live-action rights and the movie rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four, I'm aware of the X-Men TV movie, many years ago but that was a MOVIE. See I agree with you on the having to sign off with Marvel but that doesn't mean that they own the TV rights, I may be wrong but I am pretty sure I am right.

-That's absolutely right! Marvel's smart. I'm confident that's what they're planning.
I'd love to see the entire Fantastic Four franchise back at Marvel. That includes Galactus, Silver Surfer, Annihilus, the Watcher, Skrulls, and everybody Marvel needs. They fit right in at the MCU.
Fox can have the X-Men. The comics are popular enough anyway. Because No matter how many times Fox screw the movies up, the X-Men will still be popular.
