As part of a series the Film Society of Lincoln Center is doing on his work, Darren Aronofsky appeared at the Walter Reade Theater last night. Best known for movies such as The Wrestler and Black Swan some have wondered why Aronofsky would sign on for a big budget film like Wolverine with Hugh Jackman.

He explained why he has joined other "indie" turned CBM directors to moderator Scott Foundas during a post Wrestler screening conversation....

“That’s all Hollywood is making. I do think there are interesting stories and characters in that world. And people like to go see them.”

“I’ve kind of done these five movies where getting the money for them has been more of a challenge than making them. I’ve been the only person in the room who’s wanted to make these films. Now it’s kind of exciting to be in a room where every single person wants to make the movie.”
